AC Milan’s summer window seems to be building to a rather big crescendo, with midfielder Samuele Ricci involved.
Diego Moreira’s signing was announced last night, and Ruben Amorim’s squad has also been strengthened with the arrivals of Gonçalo Ramos, Mario Gila and Sankhoun Diawara. Now, the priority seems to be on outgoings given the size of the squad and the need to recoup funds.

While the Rafael Leao soap opera continues to dominate the headlines, it appears that Ricci is increasingly close to joining Como. It was confirmed by Gianluca Di Marzio late last night on Sky that a deal in principle is in place.
“Como have locked down Ricci, they’ve practically signed him. They’ll probably just have to sell Caqueret, but with Milan, it’s all set for a loan with an option to buy. Ricci has therefore been secured by Fabregas’ Como,” he said (via MilanNews).
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano (via MilanEye) is reporting that Ricci has agreed personal terms with Como. Some details remain to be resolved between Como and Milan but the deal is expected to be sealed in a short period.
So, Ricci’s time at Milan could well be coming to an end after just one season, despite the enthusiasm that surrounded his arrival from Torino in the 2025 summer window. He is one of a few players that Ruben Amorim does not consider a key part of his plans, in a crowded midfield too.
I liked Amorim, but I am starting to like him more now 🙂

What so special about the Italian players? If they are good enough the coach will definitely keep them..Even Allegri did not prioritize Ricci in his midfield last season.
Because Ricci wasn’t an Allegri request. It was another Furlani knee jerk.
Ricci could have been a priority, but in order to be one, you have to play well. and earn your place like everyone else. He was terrible a complete flop. And did not show one signal that there is a quality player in there.
Next to Gimenez he was Milan’s most useless player. His departure is no loss to Milan.

You are all crying but if we are honest, Ricci is just an average player nothing more. He is not an extraordinary Player like Tonali. If we want to bring Milan back were it belongs we have to sacrifice.
Everyone of us likes a Milan that has more Italian on the field not just on the bench. But there are rarley good Italians at the moment or the PL is calling them

Side note, i always take Tonali with a grain of salt. He was bang average the first season, then BOOM. I’m hesitant to see players leave after one season.
Exactly right. People want to win now, but they also want a squad full of Italians. Right now, there aren’t that many top Italians and most of those, like Tonali, our out of our financial reach. This can, and hopefully will, change in the future, but right now it’s a choice of more average Italians and a less competitive squad, or less Italians and a more competitive squad.

This is so stupid, not only are we selling one of our only Italians, we are strengthening a rival and helping them with there squad lists, unbelievable, so if we have a few injuries we will be left with Musah in midfield !!?? Shocking decision, why do we hate our Italians so much, next thing they will buy some foreigner to block Gabbia out of the team, FFS
We can only hope that this would be the next step. It’s not like Gabbia can whip out his italian passport and intimidate his opponents during the game.
Gabbia is a decent player and we should keep him, but in order to reach the next level we need an upgrade in that position.
When would Ricci even play? Ahead of Rabiot and Modric? Ahead of Jashari? Maybe only ahead of Musah. What’s the point of keeping him? Amorim clearly has no use for him. Clear the room.
I’m all for Italians, but they must be good players, he isn’t. Why keep a player that isn’t up to it?
Italy lacks quality now, no need to urgue on this. Some reforms need to be made to bring the Azzuri back, FIGI also knows that. Italian league has failed badly in the recent years because they dont trust their own youth like before. Every young with potential is sent on loan to serie D wich destroys his development. Its good for Camarda, terraciano (gk) and comotto to stay and learn tactics from the first team than loaning the out. If Ricci is not good for squard depth then let him leave. when he came from Torino, every milanista had a higher expectetion but never materalized. May its Allegri with his system ruined him.

A good move for all involved. There is no stability at Milan and Ricci hasn’t done enough to impress Allegri or Amorim. He is behind Modric, Rabiot, Jashari, Comotto and Fofana in the pecking order.
Moving to Como makes sense for him. They are competing in Europe for the first time and need to add depth. There is stability of coach and system at Como so Ricci should know what is expected of him. If Ricci has a breakout season, we may regret moving him to a rival this season, but it puts us in a good position next season. Either we take him back or make some good money off of him.
Selling our players to direct competitors is what bothers me.
I agree 100%. Loaning him to a team that beat us out for CL is reckless. I would have no problem with him going to another league.

There’s two viewpoints that contradict each other here isn’t there – one, that we need more Italians, and another that we shouldn’t be selling players to rivals.
How are WE supposed to sign Italians (they can’t all be academy kids that need nurturing), if there isn’t a culture of selling between clubs? When the national team was good, there was a massive culture of selling between clubs; didn’t hurt at all.
Ricci needs to move for his own sake. We are dropping a midfield role this season and Rabiot, Modric and Jashari will do a bulk of the rotation. I think Comotto is ahead of Ricci which makes him legitimately fifth choice at best – he can’t stick around for that.
I also don’t care if this makes Como a bit stronger – all the best to them in the UCL, and we are still better than them, we are going to finish above them in the league anyway – Ricci doesn’t change that. I’d rather him go to Como than end up on a mid EPL team’s bench.
Same people that sign praises for Fabregas now think he is focusing on signing a bad or average player. He is a genius until he does something they disagree. 😀 It is similar to what you said, people want Milan to buy Italian players from Italian teams but don’t want Milan to sell to Italian clubs that are our rivals (aka half of Serie A considering Milan finished 8th and 5th in last 2 season).

At a young age, he was the Torino captain. The question is not whether he is a good player, that was evident on the pitch there. What is curious is why he was brought to a Milan team that eventually signed Modric and Rabiot. Was that an early sign that leadership of the club was not aligned?
The real question is what does this guy base “I never got why Ricci got hype in Torino”. If he didn’t watch at least 20 games of Torino with Ricci it is just a random nonsense comment without real meaning. And I bet that is the case.
Because it’s best practice to buy expensive players, let them rot on the bench making sure they don’t develop and sell them cheaply after a year.
Bad sale. Good for Ricci, he is going to a better organized team and will be a 60M€ player next summer. Just watch how bad he is.

Selling Ricci to Como isn’t strengthening a competitor. Como being run by a competent ownership and management structure is what’s strengthening them. They find gems, develop them, center everything around the coach and put the club on best footing to compete. Everyone rowing in the same direction there …
That is why Como has climbed to new heights. And it will continue to do so, through Top4 possibly even challenging for the Scudetto one day – and not because Ricci will go there, but because it’s a well run club …
