TMW: Milan considering moves for Lewandowski and Arsenal star in the summer

It is no surprise that AC Milan will try to sign a striker in the summer, and a few names have been put forward.

With Jean-Philippe Mateta not arriving at Milan in the January mercato, the management will go back to the drawing board, seeking a way to improve the Rossoneri’s front line and there is certainly not a shortage of options.

Of course, they have the option to extend Niclas Fullkrug’s stay, whilst Santiago Gimenez could prove himself after he returns. However, it seems likely that an outside option will also arrive in the next few months.

Two new, one old

As Tuttomercatoweb reports this morning, there are two roads currently being considered. The first leads to potential free agent Robert Lewandowski, who can sign a pre-contract now. He is expected to make a decision on his future shortly, and he would undeniably be a fantastic option.

Though the Rossoneri are behind currently. Atletico Madrid, Fenerbahce, Chicago Fire, and an unnamed Saudi Arabian club are also in the running, seemingly ahead.

Alternatively, a move for Gabriel Jesus could be made. His contract expires in the summer of 2027, and there is no interest in a renewal, so an opportunity could be opened.

At present, though, the main road still leads to Dusan Vlahovic, whose Juventus exit is almost a given.

  1. if we play a 3 attaker formation this would be nice including st st cam and lw st rw . if we can get giminez to score again and pair him with camarda and lewandowski and have rlc and kunku as bench options with leao and pulisic . thats a super attack thats going to win almost every trophy possible. ofc this seems a bit to unrealistic and video game like so i am not suggesting we will do any of this and what will probably happen is giminez will be sold and 1 of these players will come.

    1. This is just daydreaming like when Berlusconi was chasing big name players of the past. Lewandowski has an offer from Chicago Fire to become the face of the franchise. They want the whole family to become ambassadors and his wife would get investment in rolling out her company in the US. Chicago has a million of polish people living in the city alone and the whole area has a big population. There is realistically nothing for him at Milan. Fighting for top 3 at the age of 38 for 3rd of the money he is earning now? This is not football for him anymore. They own several houses in Spain now and his wife started another company there. There is literally 0 reason for him to come.
