Moretto: Milan in ‘constant contact’ with Jaissle and Rangnick as Glasner waits

It seemed AC Milan had all but wrapped up a deal for Oliver Glasner, but now they are intensifying contact with other coaches.

The hiring process at Milan is proving to be very messy, frustratingly so. Indeed, it seemed they had made a move for Ralf Rangnick and it was hoped that he could even sign for the club before the beginning of the World Cup.

However, he will not join the club and he made the Rossoneri aware of that fact yesterday evening. Much to the frustration of many.

With no plans to hire a manager until a sporting director is in place, too, the wait may only extend.

Discussions heating up

Reports in the week had confirmed that a contract was waiting for Glasner and he is believed to be the only coach who is convinced of the Diavolo project. However, he is still being kept on standby.

The perhaps worrying report from this morning comes from Matteo Moretto, who states that contact is ‘constant’ between Milan, Ruben Amorim and Matthias Jaissle, who are the two alternatives to the Austrian.

In fact, it seems the former Crystal Palace manager is even ‘losing ground’ in the race. Conversations are continuing, but the decision to hire Glasner may not be as close as it seemed earlier this week. Decisions still need to be made.

  1. Why are talking with other coaches when Glasner gave his consent to take over right from the start which was long time ago considering everything? He shouldn’t wait any longer.

  2. Two crazy figures, Carnevale and Zlatan manage our team, unfortunately. Aren’t there any Arab or Russian oligarchs to buy the team from these crazy people?

  3. I think it is time to quit Milan, I have been a fan for over 20 years, for the past four now. I have been waiting for us to comeback strong ,but we are losing more respect and directions . Ralf Rangnick isn’t coming. This is a sign that we are heading toward relegation this season because big names in the club will also leave. I don’t see the reason why one person is standing before a club progress and refusing others to come in. Look at the coaches and directors rejecting Ac milan . We are in a mess, but he’s now working as a TV presenter . Imagine whose house is on fire is sitting on a tv show.  Meaning he doesn’t care.

  4. No management in place. No coach in place. Ghosting potential candidates. Allegri’s contract hasn’t been resolved because there’s no one to talk to in the management.

No professional club in Italy has ever reached June 12th without a coach or management. The only comparable case is that of Reggina in 2023, but the club had just gone bankrupt and had re-established its sporting license.

Kudos to Gerry for another historical milestone in AC Milan books🥂

  5. I wouldn’t give too much on media reports these days. We all know how Italian media can be, especially because of the boredom at the moment as the NT isn’t participating in the World Cup.
Nevertheless, the chief seems to be working hard on damaging the legacy.

  6. Well I think I’ve tried.

Being a loyal Milan Fan since I started watching football in 1997.

From the days of Maldini, Coco, S. Rossi, Ambrosini, Custacurta, Desially,

Right now I’m going to take a sabbatical from Milan because no other team deserves my view and loyalty like this.

  7. When too many people are making a decision then no decision can be made. Milan have too many chiefs and no Indians. This club is truly a circus.

At this point I don’t even know why any coach would think of coming to Milan if they value their reputation as it’s obvious that they will be setup to fail the same way they handle Fonseca, Conceição and Allegri. Unbelievable

Ibra and Cardinale are just bozos in a suit.

  8. Red Bird is competing with BlueCo when it comes to being incompetent.
They are not considering Glasner because he’s not a yes person. He probably asked for autonomy and being backed financially. Zlatan and Gerry is about to drag Milan down to the same level as Genoa

  9. We’ve become a mid table club. So the likes of Amorim and Jaissle or whoever will do well at a club of our ambitions. Doesn’t matter who comes in at this point.
