MN: Milan contact Vlahovic’s agent to ‘seek a solution’ after Boniface deal collapses

This morning, it has been revealed that AC Milan will not go ahead with the signing of Victor Boniface, so another name could be revisited.

Milan initially thought of Boniface arriving in Serie A this summer, but things went on hold for a while. Instead, it seemed that Dusan Vlahovic or Rasmus Hojlund could arrive. Last week, though, things changed.

Boniface, as per reports, seemed to be in the final stage of a move to the Rossoneri and underwent medical tests this weekend to see if a move would happen. However, this morning, Sacha Tavolieri stated that the move would not occur.

Vlahovic’s return

So, as is seemingly the trend, the Diavolo have returned to another option. MilanNews states that an ‘alternative’ to Boniface has been worked on since last night, and Vlahovic’s name has reappeared on the list.

In the late hours of Saturday, contact with Darko Ristic was resumed to ‘explore’ the situation and ‘seek a solution’ for his salary demands. So far, he has already gotten €2 million of the €12m that he will earn in his final year at Juventus.

A deal between the two clubs shouldn’t be an issue; he could arrive for €15m plus bonuses. However, the salary remains the obstacle, and time is running out to find a solution.

  1. Here we go, let’s make our highest paid player a striker who doesn’t score much and doesn’t want to run. And let’s also solve our rival’s problems, again.

  2. Pay him the remaining 10 mil for this season and agree to a more reasonable salary for the rest of his contract. You would already be getting him for a very low transfer fee of 15 mil plus bonuses.

    1. You’re kidding right? Pay him all that money and then free up a lot of money for Juve to further strengthen their squad.

      1. I understand you not wanting to help Juve but what other proven Serie A striker would you get for that money? If Vlahovic can accept a lower salary he is easily the best option, cheaper then Hojlund and Jackson.

      2. Maybe it’s a hard concept for you to understand, but I am only concerned how this move helps Milan. I am not concerned about Juventus.
Milan desperately needs a striker, and there is no better available option who can come and step in right away than Vlahovic. Proven in the league, 2 seasons with 20+ goals, and the coach knows him. All these other strikers are either young, injury red flags, unknown, unproven and will need time to adapt, if they adapt, to Serie A.
How this affects Juventus, I couldn’t care less.

        1. Vlahovic wants 15 mil signing fee + Juve wants 15 mil transfer fee. That’s at least 30 mil and Vlahovic also wants 10 mil contract for 4 or 5 years. Signing Vlahovic will cost us almost everything and if he fails we’re done for a long time.

          1. No, we’re not done for a long time. We’re okay for money. Vlahovic is low risk, IF we can get him on €6 million a season.

        2. Emerson lover Z, maybe you don’t understand. Let’s look at his stats for Juve in Serie A. These are goals from open play, no PKs:

          21/22: 7
          22/23: 8
          23/24: 14
          23/25: 6

Wake up, he’s not a prolific scorer, hates running, has a horrible first touch and is expensive.

          1. What is your cut off your nose to spite your face solution genius?
I thought it was about not helping Juventus?
Do you have an alternative or you just wanna yap?
            Who is a better option?
Some kid from Sporting who isn’t even good enough to start there plus cost 25+ mil?
Some dude on a bum knee from Bayer Leverkusen?
Another dude with a bum knee from Monaco?
Some young dude from Belgium that will need years to adapt to Serie A?
If you going to criticize the most obvious options than at least come up with a better solution or a solution.
Put the numbers in serie A from open play on the strikers you think Milan should sign, or you haven’t thought that far yet Caca?

          2. Hes definitely overpaid for what hes delivered at Juve. But saying that, theres a price at which its worth the gamble (hes not completely Origi-level useless)

If we get the total comission+transfer fee sub 20mn, and salary down to 6mn net, then I say go for it. Will likely be able to offload him without a loss in a season, if he doesn’t deliver.

Agreed to most people here saying what is currently demanded 15mn+15mn transfer/comission and 9mn net salary is a hard NO

          3. Emerson lover Z, so your only qualification is having played in Serie A?

Sorloth: cheaper and just scored last night. Is the target striker profile we need

            Woltemade: pipe dream, I know

            Mateta: worth the investment

Harder, Arokodare: prospects but worth it

Camarda, Jovic: familiar faces who already left

          4. @Z

Piccoli and Pinamonti both have similar goalscoring stats to Vlahovic while playing for much lesser teams (implying potential to have better tallies with better teams) and are a lot less expensive. Even Napoli has been linked with them in response to the Lukaku injury.

          5. Oh, so Caca thinks that Milan needs to invest in a project.
Milan needs an immediate starter at the striker position not a project.
And yes, having a prior serie A experience is preferred because adapting to serie A as a striker is one of the toughest if not the toughest leagues. Even CR7 admitted that himself.
Dzeko was a much better striker than Sorloth and he needed a season to adapt to Serie A, but we should expect Sorloth to come in the last week of August, missed the entire pre season with the team, to a new country, new league he has never played in before, new style of football and lead Milan lineup. Yeah that sounds like a better option than Vlahovic.
Milan, in their current situation can’t afford a project but someone who is ready to step in right away.
If you can actually read thats what it said in my comment.
            Joblvic and Camarda?
Are you Marty McFly Caca? Do you have the ability to go back in time and keep Jovic and Camarda? Life only moves forward not backwards. Why are you bringing up Jovic and Camarda?
Milan has 7 days to bring a starting caliber striker. Those 2 are not an option.

        3. @Vero Rossonero
Vlahovic is 25 year old striker who has played 202 games in serie A, scored 87 goals and dished out 17 assists. Thats more than a goal contribution every other game.
But we are comparing him with Piccoli and Pinamonti?
You expect one of those 2 to be your starters?
Napoli is looking at them as 3rd choice striker options not a starter. Besides Lukaku they also have Lucca. How is that in any way relatable to Milan?
Milan needs a starting caliber striker, not a back up.
Let’s sign a relegation team strikers because for one season they had the same amount of goals in serie A as Vlahovic.

          1. Maybe we can sign Emerson again too. Get Dusan’s balls out of your mouth, his price tag is not worth his production. There are many better options but you ignorantly dismiss all of them. Plus, why make Juve stronger and solve their problems? In the race for the top 4, we have to deal with a strengthened Napoli, experienced Inter (even though I pray the lose every game), Gasperini-led Roma and then Juve, with another quality transfer by freeing up all that cash.

  3. Where is ibra now ? Use him to persuade dusan to lower his salary, he is dusan idol . ACM only have few days to complete this deal

  4. Hahahaha but I thought it was just a Bizarre smear campaign against poor Bonerface??….hahahaha Gerry cuckery is a poison for this fanbase

  5. My opinion about strike issues…is only MOISE KEAN… strong, physical no donuts… He will make impact with available player’s surrounding him… But let’s I’m hoping for better one not quantity but quality…. Forza Milano

  6. My opinion about strike issues…is only MOISE KEAN… strong, physical no donuts… He will make impact with available player’s surrounding him… But let’s see I’m hoping for better one not quantity but quality…. Forza Milano

  7. Forget it – Vlahovic is not going to lose such a lucrative contract with Juve. Besides, he does not deserve such salary, it will be a blessing in disguise for Milan not to acquire this player.
Just notice the saga Juve are going through which is destined to leave Juve paying 12 million to Vlahovic for this season salary (just for nothing) and finish the season as a free agent!
