Tuttosport: Milan table €24m net contract to Vlahovic – agent wants double digits

AC Milan risk being priced out of the Dusan Vlahovic sweepstakes because of the striker’s salary remands, a report claims.

According to the latest from Tuttosport, sporting director Igli Tare has re-established contact with Vlahovic’s agent, Darko Ristic, in order to try and make progress. Although the player welcomes the move, considering Italy his second home, negotiations have stalled abruptly.

Why? There is a gap between offer and demand. The current sticking point concerns the contract figures. The Rossoneri have offered a four-year contract worth €6m net per season, an offer that, however, doesn’t meet the ambitions of his agent.

In Ristic’s view, the priority is a much higher salary. The deal that the Diavolo have offered him – one worth €24m net until 2030 – doesn’t convince either the Serbian or his representatives, who are aiming for a double-digit offer, i.e. €10m/yr or more.

Without a compromise from either side, the deal risks slipping away toward the end of the season. If an agreement isn’t reached soon, the deal will be put on hold for the next few months.

The report adds that the Vlahovic option could only be revived in May, but it will still be tied to the parameters the directors have set. So, in the meantime is seems options such as Moise Kean are being evaluated.

  1. There is no harm in trying, but i hope we dont throw all our eggs in a basket for him. I don’t think we should give in to his demands, and we should definitely be looking at alternatives.

  2. Yeah figures, he earn 12 million a year at Juve? And our top earners like maignan and leao is just 6 or 7 millions a year, obviously too far apart, he earn almost double, compromise to 10 million a year is already good enough on his part. Unless we’re the only club who wants him then perhaps it’s better to drop this.

  3. For what exactly; for 10 league goals last season? That’s a million per goal. Or for 3 league goals this season? This is a fraud.

    Get Andrej Kostic instead.

  4. Prefer Kean to Vlahovic. Younger, more consistent, less drama. You get the impression he would fit right in and work hard, whereas Vlahovic seems more the diva type.

    1. I prefer Kean too, but, younger? 30 days younger.
More consistent? He had 1 good season. The previous season under Allegri he scored zero goals. As a matter fact, Kean has scored 1 more goal than Vlahovic this season, even though Vlahovic has played only ! 1/3 of the minutes Kean has played.
      Kean brings his own drama.

      1. Look closer at the stats. Kean creates more opportunities per 90 than Vlahovic and wins a much higher percentage of his aerial duels. He has more pace than Vlahovic as well and the bonus of course is he’s an Italian National. Overall lower risk with higher potential reward and no foreign EU spot utilized. The better choice on my opinion.

        1. Now you are moving the goal post.
I already said that I would rather have Kean. I just find your arguments of younger, more consistent and less drama funny.
They are literally born one month apart.
Kean scored a total of 14 goals combined the 3 seasons before his breakout season last year, but you said he is more consistent. Vlahovic doesn’t have a season under 14 goals over the last 5,6 years.
There has been plenty of drama around Kean.
Most importantly, Kean has been terrible under Allegri in his career.

        2. There are no trophies for creating opportunities. Goals scored per 90 min is the ultimate measuring stick, otherwise you can’t call yourself a striker.

  5. No club in the league can pay him what Juve have foolishly done since signing him. And, he isn’t giving much returns on the investment to attract interests from the English clubs. Not sure he wants to go Saudi Arabia anytime soon, but, that’s where he will end up with what he and his agent are asking for.

  6. From a sporting perspective, he fits perfectly. From a financial one, it’s just not going to happen. Disappointing, but we have to make other plans in the meantime.

  7. I say, offer Vlahovic 8 mil/yr in a 3 year contract nd he will sign. The amount is the same, only one year shorter contract. He will certainly deliver as he is the profile we lack and need.

Otherwise, we will pay 35 million for some ‘no name promising’ player just for a transfer and then salary from 3 to 4 million per year. The no name guy will not deliver in first year, the club will say he needs more time to adapt. Then he will not deliver in the second year and will be sold which again means we lost 2 years without being able to fight for any trophies. Same old story…

If we really want to win trophies then we need to pay for an established player. That’s it. It’s calcio, not a rocket science!

  8. How do you tell this management that our problem isn’t the strikers? For most of our matches, our strikers are completely isolated and feed on scraps. instead of spending money on an attacking midfielder, we keep throwing money on strikers while the team creativity is poor.

  9. I would humbly suggest we offer him/his entourage €24m to sign and pay him 24m across 4 years.
Seems a straight forward and reasonable solution

  10. Hes worth nowhere near that kind of money, that’s why Juventus aren’t keeping him, try to pry Julian Alvarez from Atletico, that entire operation should be cheaper than his salary demands.

  11. Do you have to be very clever to know that vlahovic will NEVER join milan???? We all know his salary demands and the rigid stand (rightly or wrongly) of the current milan management regarding salaries.

But furlani being such a clown does not mind losing his time on senseless pursuits of players who are way beyond reach.
