As we wrote about in a recent feature, the Milan management have invested quite a lot of money into talents for the future. The likes of Alphadjo Cissè and Andrej Kostic arrived recently, and in the summer names like Zachary Athekame and David Odogu joined.
Bajraktarevic captivates
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress), Milan have had scouts watching Esmir Bajraktarevic for some time. The play-off against Italy for his national team was perhaps his crowning moment as he scored the decisive penalty in the shootout.
As demonstrated by the recent acquisition of Kostic from Partizan Belgrade, the Rossoneri like to move ahead of time to snatch players on the up with high potential. Geoffrey Moncada and his team have seen something in Bajraktarevic and would like to try to bring him to Milan.
Bajraktarevic currently plays for PSV in the Netherlands, where his stats are as follows: 33 appearances (including the Champions League), five goals and two assists. He will certainly go to the World Cup with his national team, where he will be able to further showcase his talent.
A smart and safe move could be to close a deal with the Dutch club right away, so that he can then enjoy his World Cup more peacefully, but we know it’s not that easy.
