AC Milan have decided to put all their chips on signing Sven Botman from Lille ahead of the 2022-23 season, according to a report.
Calciomercato.com report how the negotiation over Botman began in January and is moving towards closing. The Rossoneri have studied the characteristics of the Dutch defender for a long time and consider his skill set to be perfect for Stefano Pioli’s style and system.
The management are on the lookout for a young left-sided defender who can partner Fikayo Tomori for the long term, and they like Botman because of that, plus the fact that he is strong in the air and more than competent in the build-up phase too.
In short, he is the perfect identikit given what Milan need and he also corresponds to the vision of owners Elliott Management of wanting to sign young players who will develop into the core of the future moving forward.
