AC Milan are interested in signing centre-back Raul Gustavo from Corinthians and have asked for information, according to a report.
UOL Esporte in Brazil report that Milan are looking for a centre-back and the management have made contact with Corinthians to ask for information on Gustavo, who is 23 years old and is left-footed meaning he fits the identikit perfectly.
There has not been an offer at present, while the sources mentions that other European clubs in the top leagues have shown an interest in Raul Gustavo and made contact with Corinthians, so there is competition.
The transfer window in Italy officially opens this Friday (July 1) so a race could be on to sign Gustavo from then, and he is valued at just over €3m on Transfermarkt but would surely command a higher fee given he has made 17 appearances for his club already in the 2022 season, scoring twice and adding an assist.
I actually just saw him play when Corinthians met Goias a week ago, and he was by far the best player on the pitch. A veritable physical monster, not very refined though. Maybe a bit similar to Becao of Udinese.
This guy has no tactical knowledge of serie a and it would take him at least 6-12 months to adopt. He would be all over the field fighting for every ball and getting booked all the time.
Would be a headless transfer move.
