CM.it: Milan alerted as Griezmann saga could see Atletico Madrid sell winger

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready and waiting to potentially take advantage of the outcome of the Antoine Griezmann saga between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.it, Atletico Madrid are using Griezmann part-time to avoid triggering the obligation to buy as part of the loan deal which is set at €40m. That is why Diego Simeone uses him only in the second half, usually bringing him on around 60 minutes, but the clubs are working to find an agreement to try and resolve the situation and a deal could be struck at €25m.

Everything could close before the January transfer market, but that could mean Atletico sell a forward to raise funds and make room, with Angel Correa the number one suspect because the 27-year-old Argentine is not finding much playing time this year in Simeone’s team.

He is a name that could also appeal to Milan, who are looking for a quality player for the right wing. Correa would fit Pioli’s formation but he is valued at between €25-30m, but Atleti are ready to ‘sacrifice’ Correa in order to use Griezmann without constraints, and Milan are ‘at the window and can take advantage of the opportunity’.

  1. His MV is 40 mil (transfermrkt) though, recently extended his contract too, so it’s fair to ask 20-25 mil for him. He’ll surely solve our problem on the right wing position.
