When Ruben Amorim was appointed, it seemed instantly clear that he had a target for the midfield. But AC Milan are unlikely to pursue him right now.
With a new manager, they often look to certain players to bring with them where they get guarantees, almost. Look at Massimiliano Allegri, for example: the Italian wanted to bring several former Juventus players to Milan.

Adrien Rabiot arrived, but if Allegri got his way, it is likely that he wouldn’t have been the only one.
It is no different with Amorim, too. After his arrival was confirmed, two names were suggested for the Rossoneri; firstly, Manuel Ugarte and the name of more intrigue – especially from the Portuguese’s side – was Morten Hjulmand.
Milan not interested… currently
According to reports, the Portuguese head coach would like to reunite with his former Sporting midfielder. However, it seems difficult with Matteo Moretto reporting that a deal will be difficult to complete for a few reasons, as MilanNews relayed from his video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel.
“From what I know, there’s a fixed price for Premier League teams and one for Italian clubs. In the Premier League, Hjulmand could cost around €50 million, or something like that. In Italy, the intention, the idea, is to work on him for a lower figure than this.
“However, I can tell you that there’s a lot of talk about AC Milan right now, but I don’t see Hjulmand not being a target for AC Milan right now.
“Firstly, it’s a question of costs. Secondly, it’s a numerical issue: AC Milan already have their midfield in place. We’ll then need to work on certain exits because I can tell you that, for example, Loftus-Cheek is definitely on the market, but right now, the Hjulmand-AC Milan option isn’t one I’d pursue because, financially and numerically, AC Milan will have to think about some exits.”

D(R)C, Grimaldo (if he doesn’t join
ATM), Hjulmand, AMC/LW, Ramos;
One more SS/AMC/LW and #9 for
a backup + Chukwueze + (squad
depth) Comotto and/or Bondo/
Zeroli + Camarda (25-26 players);
SELL: Estupinan, Fofana, Loftus-
Cheek, Leao, Nkunku, Gimenez;
Goncalo Ramos seems to be the most realistic option and I think we can even push it for a loan+option deal; PSG do it with every player that is getting the boot.
I would actually try to sign Kang-In Lee as well. the exact profile for Amorim, with Leao’s sale Lee + Brahim Diaz seem too good to be true.
40M we should have from loan deals + 25M from Chukwueze, 10M each from RLC and Estupinan. I would actually might even try to sign both Lucumi and Gila. both are until 2027, by selling Tomori to EPL; our defense becomes Lucumi, Gila, Gabbia, DeWinter, Pavlovic… add Zalewski as final piece and 70-75M for that trio is an amazing deal.
