This summer, AC Milan tried to hire Markus Krösche to be their new sporting director. However, the German never arrived.
At the start of the summer, Milan overhauled their management and Krösche’s name was heavily linked. Alongside Timmo Hardung, the German duo were considered to rebuild the Rossoneri, with a substantial budget available to them.

However, neither joined.
Reports in Germany first reported that things were not looking positive with a move to Italy. Then, he signed an extension with Frankfurt, ending the speculation about him switching clubs before the mercato really kicked off.
Krösche option opens again
According to Bild, as MilanNews relays, the German director could now leave Eintracht Frankfurt and this may open the door for the Diavolo.
“From Germany, Bild is relaunching an important rumor: Markus Krosche could leave Eintracht Frankfurt in September. There are two reasons for this possible departure.
“The first is contractual: his agreement with the German club includes clauses that would allow him to leave without heavy penalties starting in September.
“On the other hand, if the departure had materialised during the summer transfer window, as Milan would have wanted, the penalties would have been extremely high, especially considering that Eintracht had recently secured him with a significant renewal.
“The second reason concerns the club’s satisfaction: according to Bild, in Germany they are not entirely happy with the transfer operation conducted recently, also because the director himself may have been distracted by the discussions he had with Milan this summer about taking on the role of Head of Football.”
Antonio Vitiello then adds some more information on the situation and he states that Milan could make a move for their former Sporting Director candidate.
“There is talk within AC Milan of possible revisions to the current organizational structure. If Krosche were to arrive after the transfer window closed, i.e. in September, the management structure would inevitably undergo changes.
“Hendrik Almstadt would be the most affected: Krosche would take on an operational role on the transfer market, handling negotiations and meetings with managers and agents. Bonny Gardiner handles scouting and data analysis, while Almstadt handles the negotiations.
“With Krosche’s possible arrival, Almstadt could therefore say goodbye or at least scale back its operations. Therefore, be wary of this possible change from September onwards.
“The news is credible because Bild itself has been closely following the situation throughout the summer, claiming from the outset that Eintracht would never release their manager before the end of the summer transfer window for contractual reasons.”
It certainly re-opens an interesting conversation about the management and would give him plenty of time to plan a future…

You have also told (us) that great things are about to happen when we signed Moreira (after the signing, to be precise) and that didn’t happen, none of those promises and your “insideR” assurances turned out to be valid, accurate and genuine in the end, nothing holds water. As a matter of fact, you have been preaching that from the very beginning of this transfer window when I think about it. How can one trust you?

I agree we need a DOF if only to sort out some actual sales in future windows, eg Estupinan /Tomori / RLC in Jan even for nominal fees.
But we’d like someone with actual talent /connections so.we dont need to rely on Jorge Mendes. Theres something unnerving about relying on an agent to run the show. Seems like conflict of interest at the very least

Not exactly, it is more for longterm planning, getting some of their scouting connections, overall organization structures and startegy for youth development then make decisions for the next few windows, which in all likelihood entails signing a replacement for Modric, extending Rabiot, finding a successor to Tomori. His eye for talent and projecting the future ceilings on current or incoming prospects
Yeah because there will be no future transfer markets again? Like in 4 months from now on January 1.
It makes complete sense IMO to bring in a TD/SD well before future markets happen so that they have the time to evaluate the list and prepare target lists.
I hear our point/argument but if the job isn’t done well by the current employee (and it certainly isn’t when it comes to the outcoming transfers) and the next transfer window is opening in just four months from now, this would actually be a perfect timing for the move. Surely you can understand why these things don’t happen in the middle of a window, we have missed our chance at the beginning of the summer.
I expect Krösche to arrive in September/October to restructure the scouting department and the winter and future transfer market in coordination with Hendrik Almstadt and Bobby Gardiner. It makes sense that Krösche is the missing piece in RedBird financial and competitive project; he specializes in combining talent scouting with its economic management.
