MN: Milan could soon reopen renewal talks as Maignan continues to show importance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is without doubt among the best in the world in his position and the management could soon move to recognise that financially.

MilanNews recall how Maignan’s save on Collins at the end of France’s win over Ireland in Dublin last night showed that the Rossoneri have a goalkeeper who is truly capable of deciding a match and ‘winning’ points on his own.

Milan must soon start thinking about extending the 27-year-old’s contract which is currently set to expire in June 2026, because Maignan is now a top player and the directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are better negotiating new terms well ahead of time.

It is very likely that this topic will be discussed at the end of the season, with the hope that it will happen with Champions League qualification secured.

The former Lille man found his ideal arena to show all of his quality thanks to the sensational and constant work of the goalkeeping coaches, who developed his talent by taking it to a higher level.
