Last night, rumours suggested that the legendary former AC Milan defender Franco Baresi had passed, but these were false, as stated by the club.
It is no secret that Baresi has had a few struggles health-wise in recent times; last summer he was found to have a pulmonary nodule, which he had surgery to remove, but that has not been the only health scare that he has had.

Unfortunately, the 66-year-old has had semi-regular struggles in the past year, especially, and that is why the worry about the suggestions last night was given as much time.
If you missed them, it had been reported that the legendary defender had passed and, as you would expect with the magnitude of his figure, the rumours spread like wildfire. However, that was all they were: rumours.
Baresi rumours false
Indeed, the club put out a statement shortly after things kicked off, stating that the Honorary Vice President had not passed, as can be read below.
“AC Milan denies the false reports concerning Franco Baresi that have begun circulating in recent minutes. Franco is going through a difficult and delicate time, and the Club stands firmly alongside him and his family.
“We urge everyone to respect their privacy and refrain from spreading entirely unfounded information.”
We wish the legend all the best, as always.
