GdS: A bag of equipment and music – details of Milan’s training sessions over Zoom

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan had a couple of training sessions over Zoom after Christmas before formal sessions at Milanello resume on December 30, it has been revealed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports how during the lockdown almost two years ago using online video chats to keep connected was a necessity for the team and that is how they trained, so the online training done over the last couple of days was a throwback of sorts for the squad.

The report claims that the sessions lasting about an hour are were mostly conducted by the athletic trainers under the supervision of Pioli, just as happens at Milanello. There were no ball-based exercises but instead it was more in line with the pre-ball work they do at the training ground such as running and aerobic exercises.

Before leaving for the festive period, the players were given a bag containing the tools needed for the exercises such as the rubber bands and weights, to facilitate the work done on legs, arms, abs, squats and so on.

There was music in the background, as happens in the gym at Milanello, while the coaching staff chose not to collect the biometric data of the players and rather to focus on the mental aspect.
