AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will be without Fikayo Tomori for tomorrow’s game against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) recalls how the English centre-back will not be available for the crucial trip to Croatia because of the red card he sustained in the game against Chelsea at San Siro, leaving Pioli to ponder how to cope without him.
The paper reports that Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia will start in the centre of defence from the first minute in what will certainly be one of the Rossoneri’s lesser-used pairings.
However, the choice is virtually mandotory given that Malick Thiaw is not on the UEFA squad list while Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi are certainly absent and Sergino Dest is a strong doubt, so Pierre Kalulu will have to act as the right-back.
It is essentially a must-win game for Milan as they hope to make the Champions League knockout stages, which is worth €60m as per the paper.
In 1994 in the European cup final, we beat Barca 4- 0 with our central defence of Baresi and Costacurta both missing. We can do it again. Hopefully.
BTW, for the younger visitors here, go find this match and give it a watch, it’s a good watch.
Yeah and it’s against Barca’s Dream team.
Good ol’ times.
