CM: Milan made no effort to sign Arsenal-bound Spezia defender

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan made no concerted effort to sign Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior who now looks set to sign for Premier League side Arsenal, a report claims.

As has been claimed by Calciomercato.com, reports that surfaced some months ago in relation to Milan and their interest in Kiwior were false.

They claim that French reports suggesting Milan had a deal on the table for the Polish defender were inaccurate and they and Milan had not actually made any concrete steps to find an agreement with Spezia for the 22-year-old.

There was certainly interest from the Rossoneri, as well as other clubs, but the player is now destined to sign for Arsenal in a deal that could be worth in excess of €25 million.

The player is believed to be flying to London on Saturday in order to undergo his medical examinations and finalise the transfer.

Milan are thought to be more focused on attacking signings and more midfield depth.

    1. All defender who coach under Pioli got playing times.

The thing is Milan dont need a new CB considering we still have Kjaer, Tomori, Gabbia, Kalulu, and Thiaw. What Milan need right now is a new young striker with good goal records to replaced Ibra and Giroud. Milan created a lot of chances but also wasted most of those chances.

    2. Not at all surprised because it is yet another (likely fabricated) rumour by the media. The problem is too many people around here read something and run with it assuming it is true. I suppose all fanbases overreact to poor form, rumours and the like but we seem to do it extremely well!
