Massimiliano Allegri is a big admirer of Cagliari’s Marco Palestra, but AC Milan face a very tough battle to sign him.
Palestra is one of the revelations of the 2025-26 Serie A season. The wing-back is currently on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta, though it is expected that he will return to the Bergamo-based club once the campaign is done.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com spoke to MilanVibes about Allegri’s admiration for the Italian, who recently made his debut for the national team in the World Cup play-offs, which ended in a defeat to Bosnia.
“Milan are so keen on Marco Palestra that the management has inquired with his entourage to understand Atalanta’s potential demands,” he said.
“It emerged that the Bergamo club have no intention of parting ways with the player next season, but would only consider offers above €40m, a figure that puts him out of the Rossoneri’s reach.
“There’s a recognition that he would be the perfect right-back for Massimiliano Allegri, who particularly values his talents, but it potentially represents a very expensive move and difficult to envisage for Italy and Milan at the moment.”
Palestra has played 33 games, amassing four assists and one goal his first season as a Serie A starter. His powerful runs and his good technique have shown that he is ready for the next step in his young career, be that with Atalanta or elsewhere.
He has played 2,815 minutes so far, has received only three yellow cards, and has successfully completed 52% of his dribbles. With Milan looking for a wing-back, it is easy to see why they are admirers.

Dodo is right there for the taking…
Dodo is mediocre. Palestra is worth it imo
Mediocre is a harsh word.
He is average if you like it better. Athekame is a better bet than Dodo.
Mediocre and average are literally the same thing – the fact is that we need a new (and better) RWB.
Maignan (Torriani, Terracciano)- Kim (De Winter), Gila (Gabbia), Pavlovic (Tomori)- Dodo (Alexis, Athekame), Goretzka (Fofana, Musah), Modric (Fagioli), Rabiot (Ardon, Bondo/Zeroli/Comotto), Grimaldo (Bartesaghi)- Pulisic (Chiesa/Nkunku), Lewandowski/Vlahovic/Ramos (Lukaku/Sorloth, Camarda);

OUT: Odogu, Estupinan, Ricci, Loftus-Cheek,
Leao, *Nkunku & Gimenez + Fullkrug;
you want to keep Fofana and sell Ricci ??!!!!
happy that you are not in Milan management
Yes, I do. I would keep Ricci but if his departure is a condition which must be met in order to get Fagioli – well, then, it’s settled. Fofana is our third best MC and anyone who doesn’t see and aknowledge that is ridiculous.
*acknowledge
Ricci is Italian homegrown player and you need 4 of those for CL squad or you can’t register full squad. Fofana will be sold before him.
Too much hatred towards the guy, I must say.
i prefer keep Ricci (maybe loan him) & sell Musah/ Bondo/ both.
Ricci show us he can make it at Torino, Musah never & Bondo is 1 season wonder
Legit thinking, valid point.

He is not worth that much. Italian tax once again, and why Milan should just stick to developing their own instead
Pay them what they want and get him.
Palestra would be a very solid addition but has this club ever spend 40+mil on an Italian who doesn’t benefit from growth decree? Good Luck selling that to Furlani.
