Sky: Milan enquire about Sheffield United star as Midtjylland demand too much for Onyedika

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing with their pursuit of a new central midfielder and Sander Berge of Sheffield United has emerged as an option, a report claims.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri management are probing various options in their hopes of adding a new midfielder before the transfer window shuts, and they are keeping alive the hypothesis of Raphael Onyedika of Midtjylland.

However, the demands from the Danish club are deemed to be too high for the time being and that is why alternatives are being studied. In the last few hours, there have been enquiries about Sander Berge of Sheffield United, a player that was linked during his time at Genk.

The 24-year-old midfielder is currently playing in the English Championship so a move to the Rossoneri and the chance to play in the Champions League would be a big step up, but there is no mention of his potential price tag.

  1. Berge would at least cost 30 mil. Plus if he is to leave , there would be a line of premier league clubs eager to sign him.
He is a very good player, but the chances of him coming to Milan are zero to none

  2. If Milan have the money to meet his £35 million release clause then good luck to them. I suspect they don’t though and the blades have laughed at anyone who doesn’t start the talking at £22 million – which is what they paid for him.

  3. the championship regardless of what the norweigan national manager might think is a damn good league & better than any of the respectiive scandinvaian leagues. It is the 4/5 best attended in Europe & there are a no. of sides capable of competing at the higest level with terrific fanbases. The football is highly competative & sophisticated. It might not be Serie A but lets be frank, Serie A is not the Serie A of the 1990’s. Ibrahimovich would not get a Premiership club today willing to carry both his ego & aged limbs. Sign Sander & get a star in the making. He’s bulit like a brick shithouse & glides past opponents. £35M a bargain let me tell you Rossoneri fans. Prefer him to go to Inter though, there, I said it, sorry but there it is, Milan used to be owned by that plastic fool bungabunga Burlesconi! Up the Blades!

  4. Milan said a 7m player is expensive and now they are moving to a championship player who probably cost more…..there a dude in serieB who I am sure Milan will like, dude cost 200k and will take 10k as salary, perfect Milan type of player 😂😂

  5. Doubt there are any serie A sides who could afford Berge. Great addition to any champions league side but Sheff U don’t need to let him go for peanuts. If you want him it will cost you. The bidding will start at £22 million.
