AC Milan are not just looking for a centre-back to come and be a starter immediately, a report claims, as they are also open to signing a young player who can grow.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri have been interested in Lille’s Sven Botman since the January transfer market, and contacts have already started again in view of getting a deal done in the summer.
If the costs of the operation prove to be too high for the Milan management, there are two other lower-cost alternatives in Maxime Estève of Montpellier and Saidou Sow of Saint-Etienne.
Milan went through the entirety of March without conceding a goal and it was thanks in large part to the centre-back pairing of Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu. The emergence of the latter may well have Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara considering whether a big investment in that role is needed.
