AC Milan are competing with two other clubs to sign Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg, according to a report.
According to SportMediaset, Milan are one of the clubs who are keen on signing the 23-year-old Swedish midfielder who started in Monday night’s 0-0 draw at San Siro, but they are joined by Premier League duo West Ham United and Everton.
This season Svanberg has been used extensively in the midfield, having racked up 29 appearances with three goals and two assists in that time. His contract runs out in the summer of 2023 which is clearly beginning to tempt some clubs including the trio in question.
The report goes on to mention that Svanberg ‘could leave’ the Rossoblu at the end of the season, and that the ‘race opens’ for the Swede. Bologna could well look to cash in if they do not get guarantees about him extending his deal, so as to recoup a good transfer fee.
