AC Milan have made the decision to allow Zachary Athekame to head out on loan, picking Lyon as his destination.
With three weeks of the window left, it seems we are finally set to start seeing some movement in Milan’s transfer window. Despite attention on the centre-back and playmaker roles, it is at wing-back where the next business could happen.

Calciomercato.com confirm that Swiss international Zachary Athekame is set to join Lyon on loan, the club coached by Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, who previously work at Milan and Roma.
The Rossoneri management preferred to send him to France on loan rather than to England on a permanent basis. In this sense, an offer from Hull City – a club newly promoted to the Premier League – was rejected.
Athekame is under contract with Milan until June 2030 with a salary of €1m net per year. He arrived last summer for €10m from Young Boys (who have a 10% resale clause) and in his first season in Italy he made 29 appearances with 2 goals, 2 assists and 4 yellow cards.
Zach to Zak?
Meanwhile, Milan are targeting Zakaria El Ouahdi. The Moroccan international is under contract with Genk until June 2028, and the Belgian side are asking for €15m for him according to Sky.
So far for the Belgian club he has made 113 appearances with 20 goals, 12 assists, 23 yellow cards and one red card. He has four appearances for the senior Moroccan national team, including one in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, which they lost 2-0 to France on 9 July.
Alternative routes include Chile international Dario Osorio, playing for Danish side Midtjylland, and the Englishman at Genoa, Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

Osorio is not a wing-back.
I know we need to sell but why sell one of the few shining lights from last season. He performed well despite the performance of the team overall 🤷♂️
From the different news I feel amorim doesn’t know the differ between wing back and attacking winger .
Amorim wants wingbacks that can dribble past their players in 1 vs 1. Not just run up and down and either hit early crosses, or pass the ball back home.
So in regard of what he wants, Saelemaekers/Chukwueze makes more sense on the rwb.
Problem is that our lwb both are like Athekame…
Chuk to dribble? Lmao
When did any of those 2 dribble past a player? In the last 3 years? Seriously.
Sael is worse version of Abate while Chuck is worse version of Suso, better get back Calabria, atleast he’s consistent, in his day he did stop Messi &/ CR7
They should go with Athekame and El Ouahdi for RWB.
But anyway it’ll be fun watching Chuk and Musah running around headlessly up and down that flank chasing their own tails.
El Ouahdi would be a massive addition.
Šteta da su pustili Artekamea na posudbu !!!! To je jako loša procjena Amorina kao i ostanak Estupinana koji može napravit kobnu pogrešku u svakom momentu utakmice !!
Plenty of times and certainly more times then any of the other “wingbacks” in the squad.
You probably havent watched alot of games but Saelemaekers rank 6th in the league in successful dribblers on most stat sites last season.
Football365 rank him the no1 dribbler i Europe when factoring in dribbles above expectations with a score of 96 out 100.
There is another metric that also factor in avoiding tackles and losing the ball (plus some other stuff) and Saelemaekers rank no1 in Europe in that as well.
Chukwueze is tricker since he havent played alot in recent seasons but if you go back to his last two seasons in Villareal where he played regularly he ranked 9th in all of Europe in 22/23 in successful dribbles, and 20th in 21/22. So yeah, when he playes regularly hes better then alot of other players in beating his man.
But sure, your blind hate is probably a better indicator to go after.
