Report: Milan aiming to extend contract of Primavera star amid Monaco interest

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are very keen on securing the future of Primavera star Victor Eletu but there is serious interest coming from Monaco, a report claims.

As has been reported by Grand Hotel Calciomercato, the Nigerian youngster has become a vital part of Ignazio Abate’s Primavera squad due to his superb performances at the centre of the defence.

Milan actually did renew the 2005-born talent’s contract in December to keep him at the club until  June 2025. Milan want to extend that deal once he turn 18 years old though, which is April 1 of this year.

Negotiations could begin as early as next week with the player and his entourage as the club rates him very highly.

It may not be a swift negotiation as there is interest in Eletu from AS Monaco who are famed for nurturing young talent such as Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar, Anthony Martial, Aurelien Tchouameni and many many more.

A Monaco scout watched him in the Primavera derby on Sunday.

  1. Extend but then we’d need to ensure there’s space for him to be promoted to the first team one day so we can’t just keep signing CBs.

    1. according to transfermarkt he never played a match as a cb but played 32 matches as a cdm and 6 as a cm but apparently he has also played 57 matches overall so theres something wrong here with his stats but i guess i can assume he currently plays as a cb ? 😀
