From Spain: Milan eyeing Juventus forward as potential replacement for Castillejo

By Oliver Fisher -

The January transfer window only shut a fortnight ago, but the Milan management are looking at opportunities to strengthen in the summer and Federico Bernardeschi of Juventus is reportedly on their list.

The Rossoneri have fallen victim to losing key players on free transfers but they might be able to turn the tables and pick one up for nothing as Bernardeschi is one of the players whose contract ends on June 30 with no signs that a renewal is close at the moment, according to Fichajes.

The Italy international has 170 games with Juventus since joining for €40m from Fiorentina, having scored 11 goals and distributed 24 assists, with many of his appearances coming off the bench. The report adds that Milan are the team that are in the best position at the moment to obtain his signing.

Samu Castillejo could leave San Siro at the end of the season and that would create a spot in the squad for a new winger, and Bernardeschi might be deemed the right profile given his experience and versatility.

  1. If, and this is a big if, he is cheap and we need to save money to sign a proper 10 or another striker, then he is a semi decent option.

    1. not even then! he is USELESS! Just look at his stats. He can’t score. He can’t assist. What is he good for? We already got Saelemaekers doing nothing usefull – we don’t need another one with a huge salary.

    1. He is free transfer at the end of season, not as good if compare to leao in term of speed, drible,Pace but he is free and he already change Ageng from Mino Raiola to new Agent which is make negotiation salary more easy. He earn 4m euro/ season now in rubentus

  2. Hope we dont go for this guy we need one right winger that provides double digits not one player with worst stats then saelemaekers! And the last few players we got from juve were garbage!

  3. There are other players for Milan to consider that will offer much more in terms of quality. Sometimes I wonder about these articles. smh

  4. It seems like faivre pursuit is over, now, Milan is going players that cannot help their cause, I wonder what the management is thinking

  5. they all can focus on Rafa with 2-3 defenders, why? because of zero impact on RW! hard to understand, if you bring instead of baka and florenzi in summer mercato (a huge RW Adli and Pobega – the chances for scudetto would have increased immensely

    1. Precisely. Forget CB too. Renew Romagnoli for 3-3.5m per year (reasonable I think), and spend all the money on a top striker in the 23-26 age group, and a top RW in the same age group, players that are proven but young enough to contribute for years and we will be off to the races. CB can wait until 2023. Just imagine if we had a players like Tammy Abraham and Berardi instead of two 35+ year old strikers who can’t play more than 50% of the games (thank you Ibra, but it’s time) and two RWs who belong in teams like Sampdoria. Literally just renew Romagnoli and spend the 50m they’re going to spend for Botman and Sanches (we are getting Adli and Pobega in midfield) on a striker and RW.

      1. 3.5m? No, thanks
Tomori currently earn 2m, how much he will ask if his contract will be renewed?
and if kjaer has recovered or if a new defender arrives, he is just a reserve

      2. Milan will be playing in d champions league next season, as things stand. We need d best quality players we can get. Some players are used only bcos of injuries to others, n absences. It’s sad when a coach looks at his bench, n he’s worried about d player he is sending in, for fear of mistakes.

  6. NOOO… big salary lil useful, if need that kind of player better bring back Jack, less salary, can play as CAM LW RW SS even DMF & he’s a true Rossonero

  7. He is a good player just that he doesn’t fit in juventus, if it’s for free I will get him and use him as a right qinger than u will see hiw he will perform in Milan.. he doesn’t fit juventus

  8. This is not something we shld be considering at all; one out-of-form player for another- it’s bad biz, no matter how cheap. Don’t even think about it

  9. He has to be one of the unluckiest players I have ever seen. There is no doubt that he has talent but the amount of posts/ near misses he has is incredible. I keep thinking that he will mature and calm down a little and start getting big numbers but it never happens.
