CorSport: Milan face anxious wait over Giroud as Pioli prepares alternative plans

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud is at risk of missing tomorrow night’s game against Spurs in the Champions League due to flu, according to a report.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes that Giroud has been struck with some flu symptoms and his condition will be evaluated today in view of the game tomorrow, and if he has not improved there is a chance he might not travel with the team.

In the event that the Frenchman continues to struggle then Stefano Pioli is expected to deploy one of either Ante Rebić or Divock Origi as the centre-forward, as they have played many times in the past.

The chance of seeing Charles De Ketelaere in that role is more remote but is not at 0%, while it must be remembered that Zlatan Ibrahimović cannot be used in the game because he was not included in the UEFA squad list by Milan.

  1. I would like to see CDK over Rebic in that role, Rebic lacks professionalism.. He is capable of something good, but he’s not focused..

  2. It will be easier for Krunic to play as a No9 than for CDK, Pioli would rather chew his suit than let that happen. Pioli never allows a utility player be used for utility purpose.
