Mediaset: Milan hoping to seal €10m winger deal in January but sale may be needed first

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working to try and strengthen the squad with some January reinforcements, a report claims.

According to the latest from SportMediaset (via MilanNews), in the last few hours contacts have been resumed for Brest winger Romain Faivre, who has already been one step away from making the move to the Rossoneri before the Ligue 1 side pulled the plug on the deal in the summer.

Faivre has made no secret about his desire to join Milan once the transfer window reopens after the failed pursuit during the summer, as he gave an interview today stating that he is still charmed by Paolo Maldini’s phone call.

Mediaset adds that if Samu Castillejo were to be sold during the winter market, the deal could close as early as January for around €10m plus bonuses. Faivre has 4 goals and 4 assists this season for Brest as they hover just above the relegation zone, showing he has far from downed tools.
