TMW: Milan ‘fall in love’ with Ligue 1 forward who has 12 goals this season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan always have scouts present in France to monitor the latest upcoming talent in Ligue 1, and a forward has caught their eye.

According to TMW, the management are planning their moves ahead of the summer and they have an eye on Elye Wahi, ‘the extraordinary French talent who made Milan fall in love with the future’.

Ricky Massara, Paolo Maldini and the Milan scouting team are watching the young Montpellier striker closely because he is considered one of the best young prospects at an international level.

He came through the Montpellier youth system and despite his very young age (20) he scored 12 goals and added 2 assists in 24 games played in Ligue 1 this season. He has played 73% of the total minutes available and 75% of games as a starter.

Wahi is of Ivorian origins and while he is naturally a centre-forward he can also play out wide due to his dribbling ability, which means it is hard to find a player to compare him to. While his idol is Didier Drogba, his profile is different.

One thing that is crystal clear though is his talent and his strong personality, two things that Milan need when planning the attack of the future.
