There have been some infamous ticket prices in the last few seasons, especially for the big games, and this was highlighted once again with the prices for the upcoming derby. Some seats have even increased by 79%.

AC Milan will be up against Inter on February 2nd and the tickets were released on general sale on Friday this week (January 17). As highlighted by many fans, the increase in ticket prices compared to the derby two years ago is significant.

As you can see in the image below, the price for Terzo Blu has gone from €59 to €104 (76% increase), while the price for Primo Arancio has gone from €139 to €249 (79% increase). The percentage varies from section to section, but all of the increases are significant.

Granted that inflation has forced the club to increase prices, the inflation rate is about 7-10% from 2022 to 2025. An increase of 79% thus cannot be attributed to inflation, simple as, and it can only be described as a money grab by the management.

It must be remembered that it will be more difficult for families and ‘true’ fans to watch the games every week due to these increased prices. It might not matter as much to tourists and fans from abroad, but those who have to pay every week – to watch a team struggle – are hurting.

Why the increase?

To offer an alternative view on things, it must be pointed out that Milan vs. Inter is the pinnacle of Italian football and is therefore normal for it to have higher ticket prices, a choice every club implements for major matches.

While the prices are higher than average, they remain lower than those set by Inter. In fact, ticket prices for derby matches at Inter’s home stadium over the past three years have consistently been higher than those of the Rossoneri.

The ‘must watch’ games have their own levels set, but Milan have stuck to a pricing policy that promotes allowing everyone the opportunity to watch the team. During this period, while derby tickets are on sale, several matches are available at prices starting as low as €5.50.

A few examples: Milan vs. Cagliari (€5.50 promo), Milan vs. Parma (€5.50 promo), Milan vs. Sassuolo (Coppa Italia, starting from €4 in promo, €5 for season ticket holders, and €7 general sale), Milan vs. Roma (€5 promo, €9 for season ticket holders, and €14 general sale).

Of course, having a season ticket helps in this case too. For the 2024-25 season, it was possible to attend all league matches for approximately €300, which equates to €15.70 per match (in the third tier, central spot).

  1. He won’t be able to continue to raise prices when no one wants to come watch your shytty on field performance.

Winning in sports makes money. Losing…well…we’re seeing the results of losing.

    1. I wish everyone understood that… I have stopped buying as much merch I can, since I am not going to pay for mediocrity.

The fans should stop going to the stadium in protest until they sell… They want to be tough, let’s show them what’s tough…

    1. Nah. My other team is Arsenal and they’ve been succeeding and challenging because of American ownership.

Also remember, Elliot got us to a good spot because they understood good hiring practices.

      1. Arsenal is a ground full of tourists these days. The atmosphere is terrible. Real Arsenal fans are priced out thanks to scum yank owners.

You aren’t a real Arsenal or Milan fan by the sounds of it. ‘My other team’ hahahaha what a joke.

          1. It’s always the true test of who I want to win when they face each other. Even if I think Arsenal are the better team, I’d want Milan to win 10 out of 10 times.

        1. Much better than where they were at the end of Wengers Era. I also consider Arteta a great coach.

The issue is playing in the most competitive league in the world.

          1. Look at the table…it isn’t competitive, Liverpool are strolling it. The difference is whoever makes the running, arsenal always fail to step up be it Liverpool, City or even Leicester….they aren’t a big club…they just say they are

          2. And Forest being in the top 4 is proof that it’s more competitive than other leagues.

While I agree that Arsenal are a step behind City and unfortunately Liverpool this year, they are still a well run team. I just hope they replace Edu with another capable Director.

  2. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks of an empty San Siro at the start of next season will convince him to sell. We’re quickly turning into the cowboys all flair and profit with no substance and no trophies. Only dif is Jerry over pays his players.

      1. Talk about living rent free in someone’s head…
How many hours of your day do you spend doing research and going over my comments?
Do you dream about me at night? I’m afraid to hear the answer. You might to seek professional help, or maybe a girlfriend or something.
When they do something good I acknowledge it, when they do something I think is wrong I criticize. I just don’t have Redbird derangement syndrome like you and some others on here.
I can send you an autographed picture if you want. For a small fee ,of course.

          1. What is particularly funny is all he wrote was this is not cool. And he calls that a critique of Redbird. Laughable.

If it was Maldini now or Tonali or CDK or adli or any hate on Emerson or Calabria, he would write an entire constitution on how bad, average, rubbish or incompetent they are.

But when it comes to Redbird and it’s management one to three wordings are considered critique. Double standards. At least they give me a reason to laugh out my ribs.

Good one IKWYDLS. Jolly good one.

          2. @Briareos add to that he got triggered by literally his own words LMAO 🤣🤣. Not cool bro….yep solid critique of prices almost doubling 👌

  3. How about a derby without milan fans present. Cardinale ball everyone. I stopped buying milan jerseys when they fired maldini without any reason and appointed those nobodies. It’s the idea of firing someone who did great under circumstances and hired way way worse people. Hope fans stop going to the stadium until cardinale sells.

    1. He didn’t even hire anyone new, he basically said Maldini was the problem because he kept the rest of them. And now we’re in this mess which many could have seen coming

  4. This guy in the pic with a smile, is called Cardinale

He wants the fans to pay more so the board of Milan can get more salary, while he keeps saying ambitious to make fans paying higher and unjustified prices…
in the meantime, kick out the italians from the team in the soils of their home country.. hhahaha

    1. I have been a fan for around the same.

Absolutely agree fans should boycott the match. The owners won’t spend on the team, why should the fans? It’s disgusting to be honest

I don’t care at this point if the club loses money because they are not investing despite the fact we are in profit, have no ffp issues and have a lot of players sold or in process of being sold that money is not an issue

      1. Yeah, I said pretty much this on another post

“Top clubs across Europe go to the limit of allowed losses in search of success. We are asked to get excited about profit and then told there’s no money.”

Look at Napoli reinvesting the Kvrara money straight away. We would have invested half of it on 3 badly researched players, and watched the rest disappear into a spreadsheet.

  5. LOL! Everything they do seems to be a legit attempt to make the fans mad. Could they be doing it on purpose at this point? If you ask me, fans shouldn’t go to the stadium even with regular prices. Unless something radical happens that would hurt their pockets, nothing will change and next season will be just a remake of this one with slightly different squad and probably different coach.

    1. 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
It like Cardinale is trying to force that fan anger out to exploding levels.

He wants milanistas, well true milanistas to hulk out.
His Redbird banner men would be happy regardless of what he did and even praise him as a god😁

  6. > The team at 8th in the table, have bad performances, and needs fans supports
    > Cardinale and the management: hey let’s jacked up the ticket price so less fans will come to the stadium and support the team

Just show how greedy and out of fking touch Cardinale is. No wonder people hate american businessman because a lot of them only think about themself.

  7. jeri is do nothing, asking to much.
where’s the clown lickers going nowdays?
then they will overhype jeri again after win vs Venezia by 1 goal just like we won CL.
AC Milan from Always Champion Milan to be American Cheap Milan,
    pathetic joke..

  8. Cardinale really pushing the edge out.
I wonder where are the Redbird fanatics.
They are suspiciously silent about this.

I wonder if it’s a slow day at the group chat, or this is just another propaganda from the pro doom and gloomers anti Redbird faction. Because I thought they would all come out and decry this.

Since you know everything Redbird and it’s management do are for the benefit for Milan and its fanbase. 😁😊☺️🤗
