With yesterday’s defeat at Napoli, their third in the last six league games, AC Milan must unfortunately say goodbye to their Scudetto dreams.
Inter are now nine points ahead, so a real miracle would be needed in the seven remaining games to overtake them. Furthermore, with this defeat, the Rossoneri have also lost second place in the league table, having been overtaken by Antonio Conte’s team.
One thing left to do
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) write this morning that Milan have only one thing to do between now and the end of the season: secure their spot in the 2026-27 edition of the Champions League. Despite the inconsistent results of recent weeks, the table smiles on Massimiliano Allegri’s men.
Juventus, who are fifth, are still six points back, which is certainly a decent lead to manage. Obviously, they need to turn the page immediately and return to winning ways next Saturday at the San Siro against Udinese.
The Rossoneri’s schedule then includes an away match against Hellas Verona before a head-to-head clash against the Bianconeri in Milan. If the Diavolo were to falter further between now and then, that match versus Juve could really become a trapdoor.
In yesterday’s post-match interview, Allegri was clearly not happy with the defeat, but he wanted to reassure his players and the fans. As he has always repeated, the target was and remains to return to the Champions League.
“The Scudetto race? I think we’ve already given it our all. Inter have a nine-point lead. We’re focusing on Udinese. We need to stay calm and know we need to get a certain number of points. We have a lead for the Champions League and we need to maintain it,” he said.
It’s all in Milan’s hands, who must quickly forget the loss at the Maradona and get back to earning points to seal the Champions League spot as quickly as possible.

Well this is what you get when you buy random players nobody asked for. Fullkrug was the “real striker” Allegri got and 5 months too late. So they signed a s**t player and half a year late. Maybe get what the manager asks? Time to get rid of management and sporting director…
It would make sense from a team which has an ambitious management wanting to improve and actually compete for something. Sadly ours only competes for healthy returns.
Allegri is here to maintain status quo. Tare is here as a front man. Furlani still calls the shots. Gerry doesn’t have money for the stadium and is busy with NBA anyway.
So no, doesn’t look like we’ll be buying players Allegi actually needs to compete anytime soon. And Nkunku purchase makes so little sense that I’m actually curious if there’s money laundering involved.
I really want tare and alegri to be gone
Watch Allegri try to secure 1 point against Juve with 0-0 and fail miserably. Again. They’ll probably overtake us then too.
