CorSera: Milan reach pivotal early-season crossroads vs. Fiorentina – Pioli to rely on Zlatan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is set to lean on Zlatan Ibrahimovic again in what is a crucial match against Fiorentina tonight, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) writes how Milan have reached a crucial crossroads early on in the season. Winning at the Stadio Artemio Franchi is never easy but it should certainly be less complicated given La Viola’s defensive crisis, and a victory on the eve of Inter-Napoli tomorrow and with Lazio facing Juventus today means it could be worth double.

There are no easy games despite the fact Fiorentina should field a full-back and the fourth choice central defender as their centre-back pairing. Pioli’s squad strongly believe in their chances of winning the Scudetto, even more so after the draw in the derby against Inter, but it means that tonight must be a win in a crucial moment.

It seems Pioli will call on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to lead the line with Olivier Giroud ready to come on. It is simply too important a game to leave the leader out, the paper adds.
