Milan’s first team and Primavera both top standings ahead of rivals Inter

It’s been a successful start to the season not just for AC Milan’s first team, but also for the Primavera side. Both are at the top of their respective standings and city rivals Inter are in second place.

Stefano Pioli’s men made it seven wins out of a possible eight last night, beating Genoa 1-0 after Olivier Giroud’s heroics in goal. They now have 21 points and are two points ahead of Inter, who drew 2-2 against Bologna.

As for the Primavera, Ignazio Abate’s boys have won five out of six games (1D). They have scored 16 goals and conceded just four, sitting at the top of the standings with 16 points. Just like the first team, they are also two points ahead of Inter.

The Milan ownership will be hoping that this trend can continue deep into the season, even if there is still a long way to go for both teams. In any case, the start has been very promising and more answers will be provided after the international break.
