Giovanni Sartori was seemingly an emerging candidate for the AC Milan job, but the sporting director seemingly will not arrive, as reports this morning suggest.
The talk of the town this morning is the fact that Giorgio Furlani will interview Igli Tare in the next few days, and potentially confirm him as the right man to lead the new project. However, it seems that this may be a forced decision.
Pietro Mazzara writes this morning that Tare is the one being called by Milan, as other reports this morning confirm. However, it is not a decision which is being made in the Rossoneri’s hands as it seems.
Fabio Paratici’s ban affected his chances, whilst Tony D’Amico will not leave Atalanta, and now, Mazzara writes that this is the same reason why Sartori will probably not arrive, with him not wanting to leave his post with Bologna.
There, of course, could be some change to this, but with him not wanting to leave his current role, then it suggests that you may be better suited going to a candidate who is wanting to take the job, and even actively bettering his chances of getting it.
Another twist in the tale, but now it seems like it could be the last, with only one man left standing.
I like lgle Tare 😀 even

why not take maldini? already have experience with scaroni & furlani, already know milan inside out, a legend..what a bad reason not to hired maldini?
Oh I wouldn’t worry, they’ll probably be an article in a couple of days/weeks about how he has “emerged” as a “surprise candidate”.
Sartori was “leading the race” according to the internet yesterday.
Is Maldini a Sporting Director?
Lol. Really. Lol
Maldini’s was a Technical Director at Milan. Ricky Massara was the Sporting Director not Maldini. You Milan fans don’t even know the difference between a technical director and a sporting director. Sigh!
Maldini is not coming back man. Get over it already. Good grief. Smh
Maldini? It’s like you dump your fiancee at the altar and already have a new one in the church and ask her to marry you instead. Then you get her pregnant and as she gains weight one year later you ditch the wife and call your ex that you dumped at the wedding and ask if she’d still want to marry you. How do you think Maldi… eh, your ex would reply? 🙂
Haha – I know. I gave up long ago trying to understand these kind of comments….
The Pride of Firing him from job preciously won’t allow to them to hire him back…He and his right hand man has set precedent already, winning the Scudetto and finishing the next season in third place as well as reaching champion league semi’s against Inter.
Milan has fallen off so bad that no DS worth a damn will dare touch it.
Everyone knows how Maldini was handled. Everyone knows if they accept they will be limited and outvoted on every decision by a committee of incompetent ego maniacs. Everyone knows that DS position is a cosmetic one. If they accept they will hold now power but will be blamed for every poor decision.
This is the reason why only likes of Tare are interested. Position requires a spineless, voiceless, yes-man, and he is tailor made for it. Besides his career outside of Lazion is pretty much nonexistent, not like he actually has a career to ruin with this move.
There is no hope for this club as long as BirdBrains owns it.
Well said very true this is a waste of time. What really needs to happen is Furlani, Scaroni, and Zlatan need to all go first.
I wonder if Furlani can really afford to choose Tare as the new sporting director. He made a public spectacle of the fact that Cardinale chose him to be in charge of rebuilding Milan’s management, effectively sidelining Zlatan. For him to set up this loud casting to emphasise the fact that he is in charge, only to choose what was Zlatan’s proposed name all along would surprise me.
These power games are embarrassing for everyone involved but above all for Milan’s image.
I was thinking that too.
That’s why Milan won’t ever be truly successful or have a viable winning project while there are factions within the club.
Just ask yourselves why he is uneployeed for so long…
All this crap, while based on the results Tare is better then all of the above.
I cannot stand this unshaven dirty clown any longer.
In the morning he has no idea what he is going to do in the afternoon and in the afternoon he has no clue what he is going to do in the evening …. and today he has absolutely no idea what he will do tomorrow.
If milan will continue to be managed any longer by this headless chicken, then next season even greater disaster awaits milan than this year. This season was a complete flop thanks also to this boyscout with no vision or clout!!!!!!
Dylan+Dog, Have you asked yourself and even know anything about Tare. He has stated that over and over, he will only take the national team role or the right project. Just because he has been unemployed for so long it does not mean that he has now forgotten everything he knew and achieved. He is very rich and can afford to wait for the right project (people at this level are not like you and I to depend on the paycheck)
Sartori is the optimal choice considering Elliott’s model. But he won’t leave on a free so that unfortunately rules him out. Furlani is too short sided to pay Sartori out of his contract. I doubt he was ever a choice truly.
Tare is free. Has been for the last two years… Low hanging fruit. And while Tare/Allegri doesn’t excite anyone, it isn’t the worst outcome.
