Tuttosport: Milan to play Padova in international break friendly – what Amorim hopes to test

Although the international break is currently taking place, AC Milan will still have a chance to work on their new system.

There has been a lot of talk about Ruben Amorim making a change to his formation moving forward and that may still be the case. However, he also must try to work on the current idea and see if there are any improvements that can be made.

Of course, things can be worked upon in training, but without match practice, it is difficult to know what will and won’t work. So a friendly has been scheduled for this week to give some players a chance in a less pressured environment and keep them match sharp.

Friendly Friday

On Friday next week – as Tuttosport writes, via PianetaMilan – there will be a friendly against Padova at Milanello, where Ruben Amorim can try new ideas with the players not called up for international duty.

The aim is to test the attacking midfield spots, too, with Amorim still on the fence with certain combinations. Christian Pulisic, Omari Hutchinson, Alexis Saelemaekers and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be key, then.

Pulisic is already a known quantity, but improvements are needed from the others. So, the game against Padova will hopefully see those areas worked on.

  1. Omari should play on the right and Pulisic on the left. RLC should used as a false 9. He played his best games there under Pioli.

But Pulisic and Omari should be our 2 starters behind Ramos.
