AC Milan are very close to securing their first signing of summer 2023 as Marco Sportiello is expected to be the new back-up goalkeeper, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com confirm the reports doing the rounds from other sources in stating that Sportiello will be a Milan player from the start of the 2023-24 season, with Ciprian Tatarusanu’s contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
The parties have been negotiating over the past few weeks and now they have reached an agreement over personal terms, so the 30-year-old should leave Atalanta and make the short trip to Milano, becoming a new Rossoneri player.
Milan have reached a total agreement with Sportiello and the signing of his contract is scheduled for February after the winter transfer window closes. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have chosen Sportiello as the ideal deputy to Mike Maignan, and they have acted well ahead of time.
