TMW: Milan fully convinced by Ziyech but two obstacles must be overcome

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Hakim Ziyech but there are still some obstacles that must first be overcome, according to a report.

According to Niccolo Ceccarini’s column for TMW, Milan’s mission for the winter is to renew Rafael Leao’s contract and then boost the quality of the attack with the signing of Ziyech from Chelsea.

Ziyech has been on the Rossoneri’s radar for some time as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara tested the ground with the English club in the summer and then subsequently turned to Charles De Ketelaere.

The Moroccan is the player that the management feel Stefano Pioli needs to definitely strengthen the right wing. There are however some hurdles to overcome starting with the formula as Milan want a loan with option to buy while Chelsea would prefer a permanent solution.

Then there is the question of salary, given Ziyech earns around €6m net per season so he must accept a pay cut. In short, Milan will try to increase the quality level in the squad and get back in the Scudetto race.

  1. Nah it’s too late. Should’ve gotten him on the previous summer window. It’s Chelsea we’re dealing with. Brace ourself to see Junior and Alexis week in week out.
