Milan Futuro 1-1 Folgore Caratese: Rossoneri come from behind to hold league leaders

Milan Futuro secured a positive result on Sunday as they came from behind to earn a draw against Serie D Group B leaders Folgore Caratese.

The Futuro recorded another big three points last weekend as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Caldiero Terme. Magrassi, Traore and Sala all scored in the first half to move Massimo Oddo’s side are up to third place in the table, which is a play-off spot.

There was a tougher test on the horizon after that, with a game against the runaway leaders Folgore Caratese at home, the team that are currently 10 points clear at the top of the pile.

After the Futuro started well, Caratese struck against the run of play not long before the break. Capelli crossed for Biondini who found the corner well after a nice touch. Capelli then nearly doubled the lead two minutes later, missing narrowly.

A deserved equaliser came in the 59th minute when Vladimirov pounced on a loose ball in the box and found the corner with his shot. They nearly went ahead four minutes after that, with Zukić’s header from a corner well saved.

Ossola narrowly missed the target from close range following Traorè’s 66th-minute free-kick, while Sardo and Traorè also missed half-chances late on. As a result of the draw, the Rossoneri are fifth and are in the final play-off spot on goal difference (+11 compared to +6, for Brusaporto).

  1. Oh I can see that Fabio Castellano now plays for Folgore Caratese. Born in Milano and was a huge talent a decade ago for Atalanta and clubs like AC Milan and Manchester Utd. amongst others tried to persuade Atalanta to sell him. Now he is 27 and plays in Serie D. Most talents are bound to fail at top level.
