Milan Futuro earned themselves a late draw against Vis Pesaro, but they have lost an important advantage in the relegation play-off.
The Futuro’s recent resurgence was brought to a halt as they lost 3-2 away against Gubbio on Wednesday afternoon. After victories against Campobasso, Sestri Levante and Ternana in the past three rounds confidence was high, but a relegation play-off spot was mathematically confirmed.
They knew that a win would secure being at home for the second leg against SPAL in the play-off to see who goes down to the fourth tier, but ultimately Massimo Oddo’s side would have to settle for a draw.
Early in the second half, Vis Pesaro took the lead with a nice left foot by Raychev that beat Nava, and it had probably been coming given that the away side were close to opening the scoring on a couple of occasions in the first half.
Then, in the 89th minute, the Rossoneri got a point through Alesi. Under a sudden downpour, the No.8 unleashed a great right-footed shot from thirty metres that flew into the corner. There was to be no winner though, and with SPAL beating Gubbio 3-0, Milan lose the home advantage.
So Oddo has picked up 13 points from 6 games. It’s almost like having a decent coach might very saved this team if they’d had one from the beginning, instead of an Ibra nepotism pick… abate still getting his team promoted this season?
Abate got sacked despite their good results.
A fued with the ownership over another player with links to management/ownership.
Abate jobless bro.. he has been sacked…
Good job by Oddo. They played the upper teams much better than before and they seemed to have gotten a nice little run of form so to speak the last 5 or so games. It’s almost as if an actual coach (Oddo) is better than someone with zero experience (Bonera). Who would have thought? Thanks management. Brilliant job (sarcasm in case ppl are dense)
