Milan Futuro 2-1 SPAL: Traore’s late goal gives Bonera’s side first league win

Milan Futuro got their first win of the Serie C season last night as they beat SPAL 2-1 at home after a great second-half performance.

At the Stadio Solbiate Arno there were a number of members of the management present such as Zlatan Ibrahimović, Geoffrey Moncada, Antonio D’Ottavio, Jovan Kirovski and Vincenzo Vergine, and it proved to spur the team on to their first win.

Paulo Fonseca and some of the senior staff were also present to watch Daniele Bonera’s team in action and the game was decided by goals from Hodzic and Traorè, with the former giving Milan the lead and the latter restoring it.

Hodzic’s goal in the 67th minute was probably what Milan had deserved on the balance of play but then SPAL drew level in the 82nd minute and it looked like being six league games without a win, until Traorè’s strike in the 85th minute.

Bruscagin’s hit the post just before the end of the 90 minutes showing that a bit of luck never hurts, and the Rossoneri clung on to get their first victory, climbing to five points and rising in the standings.

The next game will be on Monday 30th September at 20:45, away against Lucchese, and the challenge will be to build off the confidence that the three points brings after a difficult start to the season.
