Tuttosport: Genoa could use Wednesday’s game to discuss double deal with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will visit a familiar stadium and face a familiar foe tonight when they take on Andriy Shevchenko’s Genoa at the Marassi.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanLive), the managements of the two clubs could talk tonight about some possible deals ahead of the January transfer window as Shevchenko looks to bolster his squad in what is beginning to look more and more like another potential relegation battle for the Rossoblu.

The first profile he wants is that of Pietro Pellegri, someone who knows Genoa very well having been given his first taste of Serie A football as a teenager with them. There is a chance he could change clubs in January as Pellegri himself has already asked his agents to test the ground for destinations where he may play a bigger role.

In addition, Sheva is intrigued by the idea of welcoming winger Samu Castillejo. The Spaniard’s contract with Milan will expire in June 2023 and he is not part of the club’s plans, so it is possible that a low-cost agreement could be found, but LaLiga clubs like Espanyol, Real Betis and Villarreal have recently moved too.
