The AC Milan directors have embarked on a trip to Germany, and reports have emerged regarding the players they might be speaking about.
We have had confirmation through our sources that Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani flew to Germany, specifically Düsseldorf, on Wednesday. While the official line is that it wasn’t mercato-related, it would be naive to presume that deals aren’t being spoken about.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport speaks about Milan having an interest in Kyle Walker and how either one of Fikayo Tomori or Strahinja Pavlovic could leave the club as a result. If Walker were not to arrive, though, it seems an alternative is being worked on.
Walker is a profile that Conceiçao would appreciate, and he will obviously have to have his say. The Portuguese coach will be consulted again today, when a meeting between the directors and the coach is expected regarding the transfer window.
If Conceiçao also confirmed the need to sign a central defender then Jonathan Tah could be looked into, whose contract expires in June. It is inevitable that he will have demands considering the interest, including from Italy, while the Rossoneri have been linked before.
Meanwhile, TMW report that despite Noah Okafor’s failure to leave, Milan could soon sign their first forward. Contacts have been re-established over Giovanni Reyna, Borussia Dortmund’s attacking wild card who is looking for a new challenge to leave his many physical problems behind him.
Today (Thursday 16 January) could be a very important day to understand the feasibility of the operation, and as mentioned his versatility could be very useful to Sergio Conceicao. Direct contacts are expected in the next few hours.
Tah is a good player and upgrade on Tomori. Reyna is more of a marketing ploy by the American owners for the American market. He isn’t milan quality. If we want a cheap immediate signing exercise bringing back Maldini who we own 50% rights of. He can play multiple roles. But we know it wont happen as the new owners hate the Maldini name.
You clearly don’t look at stats before writing. While neither player is taking the football world by storm, the majority of Reyna’s goals and assists are at the Bundesliga level, while Daniel’s are in the primavera/U-17 level. And you claim a marketing ploy. LOL. I claim an anti-American bias, as usual. Just go to transfermarkt and look up stats -> all seasons > detailed and think again. The issue with Reyna is injury history, not his nationality.
our ‘great’ scouts of money ball really do believe at all the stats the ‘AI’ provided them, but then of all the players he scouts/signed mostly not to live up to their so called ‘stats’
Get rid Emerson cause he doesn’t deserve to wear Milan jersey Walker will cover it. Find a a right winger to move Pulusic in the Middle
Maldini can’t even cur it at Monza. He has two goals this season despite playing more. Separate the name from the player and you have zero.
“Reyna is more of a marketing ploy by the American owners for the American market. ”
These same people said the same thing about Pulisic. That worked out terribly didn’t it?
Two mr. Clowns in Germany….😂😂😂
Milan should go for trinchao
Tah would be a serious cout if we can sign him, he’s Germany’s best center back and serious upgrade on what we have at the back.
Would be fun to have two Germans as our CBs. Both playing for their country as well. 🙂
Yeah, stop dreaming. He’s not coming here.
Reyna is the most injury prone player in the world, who has his mum fight his battles for him. He’s a giant p***y.
Sure, 1 of them is American LOL.
Sempre Milan used to be a club with great history, now is only money.
I have a feeling Conceicao is the end of Gabbia. Oh well.
Reyna is decent but he’s always injured and Maldini is better. Tah and Gabbia partnership would be solid, but here’s the issue. We just signed a CB in Pavlovic. Now we’re signing another one bc he’s not good enough. Moncada screwed up AGAIN. He needs to go, we need a real sporting director.
Maldini is better? At what? Not football. There are so many delusional people on here. 2 goals and zero assists in 18 matches for Monza.
I don’t want Reyna because he is mentally and physically weak, but he’s still better than Maldini.
Dude you think Emerson is good, so the opposite of what you say it’s true. Thanks for agreeing.
You keep pretending that anyone with an italian name is way better than they actually are. That will serve the club well.
And I’ve never said Emerson was good, the only thing i said is that he is better than Calabria. Undeniably true.
Well, we have no Italians and are in 8th. Atalanta and Inter seem to have quite a few and look where they are.
But, can I ask you a serious question? Are you more in love with Emerson or Cardinale?
The American revolution… I am already picturing Reyna in a Milan shirt, not because he is worth it, but because he is an American.
Stop buying American garbage
Gio Reyna isn’t garbage.
He can actually score goals, and has been scoring goals at the Bundesliga and Champions League levels for BvB since he was a teenager.
That alone proves that he is better than the younger Maldini.
The only problem is that he has just been constantly injured the last two years and has not gotten much playing time.
If he can stay healthy, he has a demonstrated ability to be both a playmaker and a scoring threat. He can also play defense, since in the Bundesliga, an intense press is a must.
Amongst USMNT fans, he is usually considered to be as good as Pulisic in his talent level, WHEN HE IS HEALTHY.
Gio can play both forward and midfield. He’s very versatile, but since he can score goals, maybe forward is what Milan could use from him the best.
And oh, Gio comes from USMNT football royalty – his father is Claudio Reyna, who played in Europe as a midfielder for Leverkeusen, Wolfsburg, Rangers, Sunderland (when they were still in the EPL), Man City, before his final year in MLS with NY Red Bulls. In his time, Claudio was one of the best USMNT players to play the game.
A part time backup role to Reinjders or Fofana (Musah really should get the backup to Fofana job) would be perfect. Those two guys look exhausted.
Make no mistake about it – if Gio can stay healthy, he can be fantastic.
Reyna would do great in Serie A. Similar to lautaro Martinez. This would be a great buy.
This guy gets bullied in Germany, physicaly weak. It will be even worse in Italy. Also it seems like he is injured every second game. They are just buying him cause he is american that’s all. Don’t trust all this random accaunts apearing here that are just agreeing and hyping the management next move.
No, no he wouldn’t be. Be smart and think. He can barely get on the field in germany. Bad form and a never ending injury problem. Why waste the money on a guaranteed flop
Tah would be a decent signing, but Reyna is a flop waiting to happen. The guy can’t tie his shoes without getting injured, and with our medical teams track record, he’d probably play about 8 games a year
