Like with Ramos, the contacts of Jorge Mendes have been key and signing Benfica’s Silva could well be on the cards, as Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports. A first bid of €15 million plus bonuses was rejected this weekend, but the Rossoneri are wasting no time.
So, after further discussing the arrival of the defender in the aforementioned meeting, a decision was made to table a new bid of €25m (with the base payment being €20m). It is believed that this should be enough to get the approval from the Portuguese club.
In fact, it seems it would be ‘very close’.

What is beyond that, though, is Silva’s approval. There is no maybes about it, he wants to join the Diavolo and there were no hesitations when he heard the plans for the project moving forward. So, this could make negotiations a little easier.

But if we would have bought any other striker it would not have been good enough. At least this time it feels like there is a plan where the coach is a central role and the club decides fast.
