AC Milan plan to soon open negotiations with Lazio over Mario Gila, who in the meantime has made his salary demands known.
There has been a lot of speculation in recent weeks linking Milan with a move for Gila, who continues to be one of the stand-out players in the centre-back position in Serie A. It is a role that the management will look to strengthen, especially when/if Champions League football is secured.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that the Spaniard is considered ideal by Massimiliano Allegri because of his quality, his experience in Italian football and also his versatility. However, dealing with a domestic rival like Lazio is easier said than done, even if his deal does expire in 2027.
‘Not an easy operation’
Matteo Moretto spoke in a video update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel about Luka Modric’s renewal situation and also gave the latest on Gila, who appears to be the number one centre-back target.
“Gila, from what I know, is asking for a significant salary, around 4 million euros net per season, so he would be one of the highest paid at Milan. I can also tell you that in the coming weeks, Milan will begin official talks with Lazio,” he said (via MilanNews).
“It’s not a simple negotiation because dealing with Lotito is never easy and also because relations between Tare and Lazio are a bit frosty. I should also add that there’s a lot of competition for Gila, so it’s not an easy operation. However, Milan will soon speak to Lazio about Gila.”

He would still be making less than Nkunku lel
If Gordon is sold, why not try Tonali-Leao swap?
Vlahovic – Pulisic
Grimaldo – Rabiot – Modric – Tonali – Alexis
Pavlovic – Gabbia – Gila
Maignan
Great idea a swap between Leao and Tonali. In this case we don’t need Goretzka who is asking big salary and installation fee around 10 millions I heard
Tonali does want to come back to Milan but in a few years. He’s made clear that for now and in the near future, he desires to continue to play in the English Premier League.
Tonali is going to Arsenal, Man City or Man United. You can put a bet on it and you’ll win money. All 3 of those clubs are looking at him for next summer. Milan should get Kovacic from City.
Lotito will ask 100mil for him.
in his final year… per reports, the current estimate was 20-25M
Weeks ago, some report said it was almost a done deal and today we find out they’re about to begin the negotiations for what is supposedly a done deal. 🙂
4m is ok sign him up ASAP
This is a terrible idea.
It’s like all of the 5th CBs that Juve signed during the BBCC era (Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, Cáceres).
When Juve signed Ogbonna, Rugani, Benatia and Höwedes it didn’t work because it disrupted the BBCC.
It’s like when MIlan signed Stam. It didn’t work because he disrupted the Nesta and Maldini CB pairing. It’s possibly the reason Milan lost the Champions League final to Liverpool.
CBs need consistency. It’s not about ability (on the assumption we’re talking about the top 1% of CBs on the planet).
If Gila signs we can guarantee that at least one or two other players will struggle.
Look at Tomori and Saelemaekers against Juve. They have understanding going back to the Scudetto.
De Winter finally came good and offers the perfect Cáceres type rotation option.
Gabbia is he leader and his role cannot be interrupted. He needs to play.
Pavlovic has been great especially going forward.
Bartesaghi can come back to LCB particularly if the club sign a new LWB.
That’s 5 CBs for 3 positions. It’s a perfect number.
PLEASE DO NOT SIGN ANOTHER CB.
Whatever money you have spend on a:
1. Striker
2. If money is left over, a LWB; and
3. If money is left over, an upgrade on Fofana.
That is it.
Nobody else. Anyone else will undermine the team cohesion.
This team actually sucks. Apart from very few players who are untouchable, we NEED players like Gila. What are you smoking? THIS defense allowed 3 goals at San Siro against Udinese ffs !!!
