Reports: Milan see first Guerra bid rejected – Valencia’s stance and the 30% clause

AC Milan have seen their first offer for Javi Guerra rejected by Valencia, according to reports coming from Spain.

It was reported by Sky, Gianluca Di Marzio and MilanNews last night that Milan had put in their first official bid to sign the 22-year-old Guerra. It was believed to be €16m as a fixed fee, and €4m in potential bonuses.

Guerra bid rejected

According to what is being reported by Cadena COPE (via MilanNews), Milan have taken the first official steps for Guerra ‘but immediately hit a wall’. The first offer presented by the Rossoneri – €20m, including bonuses – was rejected by the management of the Spanish club.

Ron Gourlay, the CEO of Valencia, turned down the bid considering it insufficient. Therefore, if Milan want to sign the Spain U21 international they will have to raise the proposal.

According to Marca (via MilanNews), Milan ‘did not meet Valencia’s demands for Javi Guerra with an offer of 20 million euros including bonuses’ and there is a clause which is in play.

If Valencia were to conclude the transfer of Javi Guerra for €25m, to use last summer’s figure, Villarreal would receive €7.5m and their neighbours €17.5m, a figure considered insufficient.

Considering that 30% of the proceeds will go to Villarreal, more is needed. Last year, Atlético Madrid reached an agreement for €25m  fixed, although in the end they backed out with the arrival of Gallagher.

At this point, Valencia know that Javi Guerra is one of the most interesting players in their team and that the right time to secure a good fee for the player could be this summer.

  1. Not sure where the money from Tiji’s sale went, but it sounds like we need to sell Musah as well to land this kid.

And what happened to Jashari? One day interest?

    1. Everyone’s forgotten the 30M spent on Gimenez. That wasn’t in the original 2024 summer budget. They went out and spent extra in January. So I’m guessing that of the 55M actually received for Reijnders, technically there is only 25M available. Coincidentally that’s what it seems it will take for Guerra. The Musah money will hopefully go to Jashari or Ricci (because we need one of those two in addition to Guerra), but it may just be one of Guerra, Ricci and Jashari plus Modric. Remember we’re after Leoni and that’s going to take another 20-25M. We really need to get on with selling deadwood like Tomori, Okafor, Adli, Pobega and Musah.

      1. I can’t believed that 2 defenders that help us won the scudetto already considered a Deadwood, Tomori and Kalulu now. This management don’t now anything about football.

      2. I read somewhere that they funded Gimenez transfer from CL money and January outgoing players and their salaries (Calabria, Morata).

      3. Article from calciomercato states:

“Milan have a robust financial strategy to fund this potential Gimenez transfer. The club has accumulated significant funds from multiple sources, including:

        – Champions League revenue (approximately 73 million euros)
        – Player sales (22 million from Charles De Ketelaere’s transfer)
        – Supercoppa Italiana winnings (around 10 million euros)”

  2. Hope not. Jashari definitely looks like he could be a brilliant acquisition…let’s hope he stays on the radar.

    1. Every player looks good on YouTube. I watched the Club Brugge games against Atalanta and I wasn’t impressed by Jashari. Overrated player.

I would rather Milan sign Bouaddi from Lille. With Bouaddi, Guerra and Malik Tilman we are ready to challenge for the scudetto.

      1. I agree all these people just watch YouTube highlights that could even make musah look like Patrick Viera in the midfield. I think now that this €20 million bid for this kid is enough. Now that it is rejected its time to move on. Valencia is going to ask 30 mill, forget it, for a little more you could get a real midfielder.

        1. Yeah exactly. I was looking this kid up on YouTube as don’t know much about him and saw a Musah video and this is why Napoli want him, and he looked absolutely class haha. Makes you realise how edited these videos are…

  3. I’m sorry but I’ve watched this guy play in more than just highlights, 25 is the MAX he should cost and that’s generous. Go get Jashari and Frendrup, and conpelte the Xhaka move

    1. You should have applied for a job before they signed Tare, these guys have no idea what they are doing at all. If this is the mode of your rationale thinking, switch to Man U, at least there you will have a reason to complain

      1. Both Inter and Napoli made 3 signings already. 4th on the way. Only losers can defend this management while they are watching others buy players.

      2. Forgot to add, Tare seems to know what he’s doing a bit too much. Albanian players with albanian agents are the main target?? What for?

  4. Both Inter and Napoli made 3 signings already. 4th on the way. Only losers can defend this management while they are watching others buy players.

  5. Maybe you all forget the State from Furlani
Everything must go through Him, even SD Tare can not go beyond this.

    So be realistically…

  6. What they see in this player it is a mystery. They want to buy Guerra for a huge sum and sell Musah for pinuts. When Musah is much much more better then him. What’s moncada role at Milan??
