Journalist claims Milan have asked Fenerbahce for permission to hold Guler talks

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have begun taking formal steps to try and beat the competition and sign Arda Güler from Fenerbahce, a journalist has claimed.

As reported by Yagiz Sabunuoglu of SportDigital, Milan have sent a letter to Fenerbahce asking for permission to begin official discussions with Güler’s entourage over personal terms.

Given that he has a release clause in his contract, it is an official step by the Milan management to begin talking with the player and trying to get his green light for the move to take place before – presumably – then triggering the clause.

The Rossoneri are in the market for both an attacking midfielder after Brahim Diaz left and for a new right winger to upgrade that particular flank, and the 18-year-old fills both of those needs such is his versatility.

After a season in which he scored six goals and added seven assists across all competitions for Fenerbahce, he netted his first ever goal for the senior Turkish national team against Wales earlier in the week.

  1. I really really hope we manage to land Guler. He is once in a generation kind of talent. But considering the names of the other clubs circling around him.. it feels like the chances are very low.

  2. His release clause isn’t that high, considering the level of talent in the competition around them. Sold Sandro, use the funds and secure this kid quickly.

    1. His agents are asking for huge signing bonuses and commissions though, he won’t come cheap. I hope the club can make it happen but he’ll be under a lot of pressure to hit the ground running.

  3. We will get him the same way we got Thruam, Kamada and Chuz.
We will finish the transfer window without getting any good player but they will probably sell another top player from Milan like Theo or Mike
