AC Milan already have an idea in mind in the case that Rafael Leao departs this summer, as Matteo Moretto discussed today.
There has been plenty said about Leao recently, and understandably so. Indeed, the Portuguese is as close to leaving as he has ever been and there is no sense of who will replace him. Of course, new stars will arrive, but there doesn’t seem to be a direct replacement for him.

Instead, the current theory would see Christian Pulisic and Christopher Nkunku fight for his ‘position’, so to speak, on the left.
However, it would appear that Milan are planning an investment in a young talent who could one day emulate the former Lille winger.
Milan’s Leao replacement idea
Indeed, this is what Matteo Moretto is reporting this afternoon on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, as MilanNews relays.
“Konstantinos Karetsas is the exclusive name I want to discuss today in relation to AC Milan. He’s a left-sided attacking midfielder from Genk, with a contract expiring in 2029. He’s the new name I want to mention today. He’s a name that’s been floated to AC Milan.
“The Leao situation needs to be resolved and is gaining traction: Leao is ready for a new experience, and AC Milan is ready to listen to offers for him. Jorge Mendes isn’t Leao’s agent, but he’s certainly someone very close to Gerry Cardinale.
“Nothing has been signed between Leao and Mendes, but there’s a sort of verbal agreement, a basis of intent, between Cardinale and Mendes to find a solution for Leao’s exit. First the Portuguese player leaves, then AC Milan will look for a replacement.
“Today I’ll give you the name of this Karetsas, who’s been talked about highly, and who’s been linked to several top European clubs. We’ll see if he’s a name worth pursuing and if AC Milan will pursue him with a real negotiation.”
It would certainly be an interesting move, especially considering the competition that he would have to see off!
F me if this actually happens but i honestly was having him in mind and hoping Milan would try to sign him. I watch this kid live and i can tell you all that he is amazing.

Well i get what your stance is but i really dont understand all those that are saying once Leao leaves, Milan will suffer. On the contrary- i actually think if they replace him with someone that is working for the team and wants to give his 120% every game it will be benifitial for everyone. Just look at it this way- if Leao really is as good as people is saying then why Milan havent won a scuddeto for 4 years now, why they havent been able to secure CL footbal 2nd year in a row and why, if its only a team problem, havent Leao got 20+ G/A is he is as good as people say he is?
Then, if that was true, wouldnt Real, Barca, City or PSG be all over him with biding war and offers well above 100mil? And in reallity they are having problems getting any offers. So facts dont really allign here..

There’s a lot of talk about this kid as a big upcoming talent. I was surprised that he’s only eighteen! It would certainly be an investment for the future, but he already has a pretty high price tag. The problem is that an eighteen-year old kid from the Belgian league, no matter how talented he is, would hardly be a real difference maker at this point. If Cardinale had a little extra money… why not!?
