AC Milan have got Hellas Verona midfielder Ivan Ilic on their list of targets to reinforce the engine room of Stefano Pioli’s system, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri followed the development of the Serbia international at length during the course of last season and they were left impressed, so Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are evaluating him carefully both for the present summer mercato but also possibly future windows.
A number of clubs have expressed interest in the former Manchester City man as Lazio have pressed strongly for some time while some teams in the Bundesliga have shown their appreciation for the 21-year-old too.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has had a verbal agreement over Ilic for some time, but has given Verona a deadline: if the deal is not finalised in the next week then the Biancocelesti could turn to another target.
Milan are evaluating different profiles and have not gone beyond a simple enquiry with Ilic’s agents, but they like the player a lot and a concrete attempt with Verona in the next few hours cannot be ruled out.
