AC Milan and Inter are serious about building the new stadium away from the current San Siro district of the city, according to a report.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) are reporting that due to the delays in the process of building a new stadium next to the current one, the clubs have taken into consideration the idea of ’The Cathedral’ in Sesto San Giovanni.
The top priority of the two clubs is to build the new stadium in a relatively short time, and that is why the hypothesis of the former Falck steelworks site in Sesto San Giovanni is being discussed, with the Mayor of Sesto – Roberto Di Stefano – enthusiastic about this opportunity.
The paper claims that choosing Sesto for the new stadium would greatly speed up the time needed to complete the project and would also have the space necessary to accommodate the plans in terms of volume, so the pressure is back on Beppe Sala and the probable public debate that will involve the two teams.
