CM.it: Milan and Inter keeping tabs as Guardiola is happy to offload Man City defender

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could battle rivals Inter for the signing of Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte in the summer, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.it, Pep Guardiola has decided that Laporte is no longer a part of his long-term plans for City, with the 28-year-old having found little playing time this season so far.

The former Sevilla man appeals to both Milan and Inter. The Rossoneri have had a terrible season defensively and have let in 18 goals in 2023 alone – the most of any team in Europe’s top five leagues – so could choose to take action.

Meanwhile, the blue side of the city are expected to lose both Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij before the start of next season so will have to intervene.

Both clubs would need a convenient formula such as an initial loan with option or obligation to buy, and they would also need the defender to take a pay cut.

  1. Milan will battle no one, they can buy some average player for 30 mil (with many holes left in the squad) and that will be the budget. And if they don’t get in to CL their budget will be zero. Milan will be team with best book in the world

  2. They were keeping tabs on Cancelo, but still he went to Bayern. Same thing will happen with Laporte. He will end up at Inter. This team socks and are heading nowhere very fast.
