ESPN: Milan and Inter both keen on Man Utd playmaker who would welcome Italy move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Inter are both interested in signing Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata on a free transfer, according to a report.

ESPN (via MilanLive) report that the 33-year-old has a market in Spain but the idea of returning to his homeland is not a priority for him, who would instead prefer to try another experience in a top five European league.

Mata is waiting for formal offers to arrive before deciding on his future but his intention is to remain playing in the biggest games and that is why both Milanese clubs are interested in potentially offering him a contract.

The Rossoneri are looking for a player who would guarantee an upgrade in technical ability in the attacking department and while Elliott Management tend to prefer the signing of younger players, the chance to sign Mata on a free transfer – like the arrivals of Kjaer, Giroud and Ibrahimovic – could be too good to turn down.

  1. Mata and Di-Maria as a number 10 and a number 11 that’s a playmaker and a LWF respectively these two guys will bring a challenge to our champions League opponents

  2. He is only good for a back up to Adli or maybe blas in next season nothing more just to fill in for an injured player. I think it would be good to get him for free so yes to this purchase

  3. Old ,bench Warmer. Just skip . It is wasted salary and already lost interest playing at high level football. Retire at la liga are his best option now
