Messaggero: Milan and Inter ‘monitoring’ Fabregas as Manchester City and Barcelona join race

No, that is not a headline from his playing career. AC Milan have apparently joined ‘all of Europe’ in tracking Cesc Fabregas’ managerial situation at Como, according to a report this afternoon.

Some of the biggest clubs tracking Fabregas is a story that could have been told several times in years gone when the Spanish midfielder was tearing apart teams on the pitch. Now, whilst maybe not to the same level, the Spaniard is getting people’s attention again.

Como have not been spectacular this season, but they have been a solid enough team in Serie A and that has to do with Fabregas’ coaching and how he has developed several players rapidly.

As a result of his work, there are already people ready to knock on Como’s door for their head coach, and Il Messaggero (via Football Italia) reports that Milan and Inter have joined ‘the whole of Europe’ in the watching zone.

With his impressive results in Serie A, he has shown his managerial potential and with Simone Inzaghi and Sergio Conceicao’s long-term futures being questioned, albeit for different reasons, the two Milanese clubs are keeping tabs.

Manchester City are also ‘monitoring’ things, as are Barcelona, and it seems that his next job will be with one of the European big boys.

  1. Just get Gasp. Gasp is not proven in the big team yet, but his success with smaller team is much more admirable. He will be very hungry to prove in the big team too

      1. Gasp has done great at Atalanta were there is patience for a project. He sucked at Inter. He is a hero there for a team that’s won more and is more stable than us as of late. He’d be giving too much to risk it all in 1 year IMO. And since they are financially stable, it would be a pain in the butt to get him – so I just don’t see it from any angle, even though he is clearly a very interesting name.

  2. I say keep Conceicao, but if we are already shopping at Como bring that kid Assane Diao. He’s looking more like Leao than Leao these days.

    1. This! Why fire a coach who clearly has the ideas but lacks the personnel to implement? Plus the man has had little time to develop his style in training. Its been bedlam since he joined with games every three or four days. Our problem is not tactics its attitude!

  3. Inzaghi is leaving?

Flick literally in his first year?

City would just go for top of market?

Milan I can see being in the market at least.

  4. Well they should have had the foresight to see how his team was playing early on. Now he’s just more expensive. Like with players happens with coaches

…Add in Fabregas as the best newbie, doing wonders with a poor squad. I’m sure other clubs are looking”

Maybe I’ll apply to be the scout 😅

  5. Hahahahah what???’ The club that is spending 100M for transfers and can’t do better? Amazing coach, their position has nothing to do that they’ve spent more than most of other Serie A clubs. They are doing much worse than they should. Meanwhile Genoa made a 5M profit and is ahead of them.
