Pellegatti: ‘Chances are increasing’ that Milan and Inter move districts for new stadium

By Oliver Fisher -

The chances of AC Milan and Inter building a new home away from the current San Siro are increasing, according to Carlo Pellegatti.

The well-known journalist has written a column on MilanNews about the stadium situation, starting with a personal hope that he could repeat the phrase ‘I’m going to San Siro’ as he has with his father and then with his son for sixty years.

However, it seems that the ‘chances are increasing’ that a new phrase will have to be used: “I’m going to Sesto!” Milan and Inter cannot wait any longer for the council to fully approve of their new stadium project and a decision must be reached within a few weeks, at most.

The permissions must come, without further delays and further big costs, or the two teams will abandon their district and look at another area like Sesto San Giovanni. Every year they project is delayed means €100m in revenue missed out on and a subsequent lack of investment that sets the clubs back.
